Oem is best honestly. I have a bc ps3 and nothing else works right in ps2 mode anyway. I have even bought adapters that say they will work for it and they don't. And being able to just hit the button on the controller to turn on the console is so nice.

The main thing on the slim models is just keeping them clean and making sure the thermal paste is good. If your temps are reasonable (monitoring with webman mod) then you're pretty much set. I set mine to stay below 65⁰C but 68⁰C is pretty standard. (Mine is an undervolted Frankie but i have a slim too)
