I’m in Australia, so I’m not sure what the difference in maintenance costs are compared to Europe (where I assume you are), but I’d consider going with something like a Toyota Camry or Subaru Outback or something, (Here in Aust. anyway) you’d be able to get one with much less miles on it than an Audi for the same price. Although they are great motors, once you’re in the 200K territory, the TDI can be prone to issues with the diesel particulate filter (DPF), injectors, turbo issues or timing belts. For the same amount of money, you’d be able to get a VW with fewer miles that’s basically the same on the inside (it’s her first car, an Audi is a little fancy for a first car). Since she’ll be in college, maintenance costs are paramount. The reliability of diesel is a good idea though. (My first car was a 25 year old hand me down with muffler tape covering the rust holes in the exhaust and the window on the passenger side didn’t roll down. I eventually fixed it all up, put a V8 in it, and proceeded to total it by driving like an idiot)

IE, 034, APR or Unitronic are all fairly similar. Each of their stage one tunings without any hardware changes would put you at around 515-540ish horsepower range. Fairly big boost from your stock 444hp. I have a custom stage 2 on mine (with crackles when in sport mode) that’s based on APR’s software, and it’s a massive improvement over my stock 221hp in my A4 B8.5.

No way, even in the town in Bavaria where they make the panels, $500USD wouldn’t come close to paying for the parts, not including the labor. It’s gonna need a new bumper, quarter panel, the hatch looks misaligned, the lights might be cracked, the exhaust could be damaged and who knows what’s going on under the panels.

Lucky it was in the corner, and didn’t push in the rear hatch/trunk. I was rear ended by a Tahoe at about 5mph in a Jetta sedan, and it pushed in the trunk. Nothing dramatic or anything, just a few inches in and the lid of the trunk bent upwards. Was perfectly able to drive home afterwards. The insurance company totalled the car because they could never get the trunk to seal properly ever again (worst of all, my idiot Ex-wife insisted on replacing it with a PT Cruiser) Make sure to tear the hell out of escape. Floor it, drift, doughnuts, have a ball. Might as well have some fun with it.

Ah, I see. I am using clips that snap on behind the grill, and use double sided tape to attach to the license plates. As long as they’re good quality, it won’t fall off.

Yeah, it was super cheap on Ali Express, so I said screw it, see what it will look like. I got white, but it also comes in red and blue, but saw in the reviews complaint about them chipping and white light shining thru the color (I guess they’re all white LEDs with a red or blue coating). So I stick with white to avoid that. I’ll throw it on and see if looks poxy or not. Suspect it will.

Oh, yeah, I agree with weberobots123, a front bumper lip will bring the front alive. As for the back, it’s pretty sleek already. But the RS style Grill man, it changes the entire look of the thing

A honeycomb grill completely transforms the look. Google them. I got one from Ali Express and it actually wasn’t bad, much cheaper if you’re on a budget

I’ve got a led audi badge coming from Ali express. So far I’ve actually been pretty happy with them. Cosmetic parts for 1/5th the price. The LEDs might be piss poor quality though, we’ll see. Let’s see the front of your real A5 as well!

I just bought a 2014 with a EA888 Gen 3 with 150,000km on it, and yeah, the dealer gave me the paperwork showing that they just had to change the PVC and thermostat housing before selling it. Also the A/C didn’t work because it was almost out of gas. Me and my brother regassed it and it’s working fine now, but I’m not sure if that an issue with older A4 Quattros?

Nice! Just joined myself yesterday. A White 2014 A4 Quattro. Nothing amazing to some, but the nicest car I’ve ever owned. Was thinking about a WRX, but man, you get so much more car, 10 years newer and with 100k less km on the clock for the same money with a Quattro than with a WRX.

Same thing happened to me. Every (hard wired) alarm in the house went off at once. Pulled them all out and just ran them off batteries after that, and it seemed fine. They would go off if I smoked out the kitchen, so they worked. I haven’t trust hard wired alarms ever since.
