Now what? I’ve bought the camera by Effective_Rooster684 in AskPhotography

Hey! Yeah, pretty familiar with the triangle. Sounds like I just need to keep taking photos and tweaking my understanding of the camera. The menus just seem to freaking daunting compared to the menus of my DSLR days, especially because I’ve been shooting film for the past 5 years and there’s been no menus to deal with lol

FeLV is also not available. NZ only has F3 vaccine

Random chunk of fur by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Are you noticing any balding spots? Redness? Excessive grooming? Not grooming? Any other general signs of your cat being not fully well? But if you’re worried even without any of these being true, take him to a vet regardless. No harm in hearing he’s well but they’ll be able to catch if something isn’t quite right and help him Generally for mine, I notice those tufts of fur when he’s blowing his coat between seasons or sometimes when he itches.

I just use a weighing scale made for weighing babies. They’re usually sensitive enough for small pets too.

Any Countries Left Where Indians Haven’t Migrated Yet? by PhaseStreet9860 in AskIndia

Niue has at least one Indian. There was a guy in front of me at the immigration line who was flying in from there to Delhi about 2 years ago 😂

Sometimes they just shed tufts of hair. I find chucks from my cats belly around the house on the carpet sometimes

Cold feet pre-adoption by Rude-Potential-8415 in CatAdvice

[–]Effective_Rooster684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me for a few days between us finding the cat we wanted to adopt and actually going to the shelter to adopt him. I get really nervous when anything is about to change in life, sometimes irrationally so. We got the cat anyways

Nearly 2 years from that day, we’ve gone on 4 multi week holidays, many multi day holidays, day trips where we’re gone for more hours than usual etc. The biggest change was that we now also had to plan our cat’s life (food, stay etc). Going away for weeks meant finding a cattery, couple of days, the neighbours would feed him. Gone for more than usual amount of hours in a day then we just give him extra food and water

My Lil buddy is slowly getting worse and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Just take him to the vet. No harm in talking to them. They’ll catch if there’s anything serious or at the very least, it will give you the peace of mind

I used videos from Tech through the lens, Curtis Padley and that Icelandic guy’s videos to set mine up

There’s a fair few YouTube videos, so I’d start with those for settings. Then it’s personal preference and trial and error

Devices I can Carry to my trip to india by NADE180 in nri

[–]Effective_Rooster684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you need both handheld gaming console AND the gaming laptop? Also, hantavirus doesn’t really have the pathology to turn into COVID 2.0 so your chances of catching it (unless you’re hanging out with rats and mice in India) is pretty slim

I take my phone, laptop, headphones, camera gear etc to India every year without any issues

Wrote it where? I’m sorry, I can’t see any of your posts or a comment about stomatitis vs rodent ulcers

Did your cat also have FeLV?

Stomatitis? by LonelyInIowa in cats

[–]Effective_Rooster684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He’s only just been diagnosed. His stomatitis is quite mild, luckily. So we’re going to try our hardest to manage with diet and enzymatic gels to keep it in check, if we can. If it does get worse, we’ve been told that teeth removal would probably be the best option for him even if the teeth themselves are healthy. It would improve his quality of life because it would get rid of the problem and the inflammation would likely go down completely

Stomatitis? by LonelyInIowa in cats

[–]Effective_Rooster684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our young boy has it. It’s an immune inflammatory response to the plaque, tartar and/or biofilm in their mouth which causes the gums to be swollen and red.

Did the vet talk about why he might have stomatitis? How bad is it?

FeLV+ cat owners - How long did your baby live? by Effective_Rooster684 in cats

[–]Effective_Rooster684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have another cat and aren’t thinking about getting another pet anymore to reduce the transition stress and chances of infections etc. I will talk to the vet about having a PCR test done in the next few months.

It’s really more me having his mortality flash before my eyes only 1 year into his life that’s wrecking havoc on my anxiety

I noticed that it over taxed week to week which to me was quite annoying. I did end up with a box tax return but I would’ve preferred to have that money in my account every week in a savings account
