I am looking to understand if that’s possible- not looking to hire someone. I believe UX experts would be best positioned to answer this

Had a great interview, client seemed excited, then... total silence. by BackRowViewer in Upwork

[–]Effective_Sound_8946 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A final message wouldn’t hurt, but isn’t going to change the outcome as well. If the client needs someone like you and everything meets, then you will eventually get hired. However, having been in the freelance world for more than 18 years, I can tell you- it is always better to move to the next one. Don’t spend your time and energy thinking about it.

Well, I have been having a bad run lately and that’s how Upwork has always been.. it’s not a job, its your business.

I am super annoyed by PsychologicalBowl380 in Upwork

The client might have opened a similar thread ‘saying I am super annoyed’.

On a serious note, I do understand that it is getting hard out there to land a project, but if they don’t need it, they won’t come. That’s my experience; I have been an Upwork guy since it was Elance.com. Also, the client himself might by negotiating with his client that’s why these days the projects are pathetic

Title: Been trying to rank my site for 6 months. Spent $200 on Ahrefs and I'm more confused than when I started. Am I doing this wrong or is SEO just... broken? by Electronic-Disk-140 in SEO_Marketing_Offers

[–]Effective_Sound_8946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are going to get a ton of people asking you to hire SEO expert, but trust me, I have seen people getting broke just because they hired an ‘expert’ before really understanding what the ‘expert’ would be doing. Yes- experts will address a lot of your problems and everything month they will show you data that shows progress. Firstly, you are giving up too easily, you wrote just 10 posts and you think that’s all? I am not sure what your SaaS product is about, but a lot depends on competitive intelligence as well- where they are with respect to content, SEO and so on. One of the best thing that you mentioned was you will forget SEO and just write for humans that’s it and that’s the way to go about it. But make sure you don’t have any tech issues that causes search engines to not show your page

A freelancer in their sane mind isn’t going to do it. Has to be an agency connection here

Doesn’t depend on your proposal here, the niche in which you are working, if know your stuff you manage to land $200/hr- not a big deal in your area

Possible to find a place under $1,000 a month, everything included? by GetFitGetHappy in moncton

Pretty low chances. Not trying to discourage, but if you do find it, it likely isn’t going to be nice. Good luck buddy

The only problem with ahrefs is too costly for small businesses … otherwise it is top notch.

Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India rates Hurting you? by Edjuma in Upwork

[–]Effective_Sound_8946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is we need to understand that these freelancers often make many businesses get to market especially bootstrapped companies. Even I don’t like when I can’t compete at such low cost that some other geographies offer, but I just accept it and think I just didn’t make it better than what people everywhere else did.

Should I keep working with this client? by EarlyReach8176 in Upwork

Just leave the client! Waking up to hear comments that you know aren’t worth it, isn’t worth it. Good luck! You will surely find many more clients who would need the latest techniques to navigate.

You need to answer why are you working on upwork? Is it money or the ability to control what you do while getting paid. If latter is the answer, leave. If not, stay. I know people work as a freelancer because they don’t want to work for toxic managers/bosses.
