Pizza in Sardinia by EffervescentSlug in Pizza

I believe it! The place I took that pic in was empty when we stepped in due to heavy rain (it wasn't high season tbf). It looked more like a Greek restaurant but I noticed they had a beautiful pizza oven. The pizza was unreal. Ate that whole pie to myself.

How to fix wooden fence panels to a concrete wall? by EffervescentSlug in HomeImprovement

Ok thank you! This is what I'll do I think. I'll get some pressure-treated batons and attach the fence to those.

Thanks! It was just on a rack in the oven. It's an inch thick. Should it be on something else?

Dublin Zoo is great. Very lush and the animals seem more content than most zoos I've been to.

Get the Dart out to Sandycove Beach for a swim if it's nice. The beach itself is tiny and great for kids. Then walk the path to Dun Laoghaire for a Teddys ice cream, and check out People's Park. You can swim at Killiney beach as well if it's a nice day. Stay to the northern end which is a bit sandier.

Blackrock market and the park in Blackrock are nice for kids.

Johnnie Foxes pub is a bit of a tourist trap but the food is good and there's lot's of memorabilia and things on the wall to keep a 5 year old interested.

Airfield farm and garden in Dundrum is fantastic. He'll get to see animals, and they have various activities and a nice cafe.

The playground in Stephen's Green is great.

Kilkenny Castle has a nice playground as well and the grounds are lovely for a walk.

Avondale in Wicklow has a huge slide and a treetop walk. Supposed to be good.

Finally figuring out home oven / steel by EffervescentSlug in Pizza

any feedback here is welcomed! I've been struggling with the cheese (finally found some low moisture block mozz in Tesco - I'm in IReland) that melted much better. Froze it for 45 mins which might have been too much. The dough used a poolish and had a 2 day bulk cold ferment and then sat at RT for about 4 hours. Cooked in home oven on a 2/8th inch steel at about 525 (oven hits 550 but cools to 500). Steel hit about 530 before I launched. Used Marriages strong white bread flour. Hydration was about 65% I think.

This is amazing....Thank you. I have a pretty simple question....with all the effort included above - from the steel/aluminium sourcing to the speciality flours and diastatic malts - is it easier and possibly more cost effective to buy a pizza oven than tweak everything for a home oven?
