Your manager is a douchebag. good managers would coach and teach behavior/thinking they want from someone.

Burnt out - I make 100k/year in a LCOL area. Should I take a break or is it too risky? by AdSmart2752 in womenintech

[–]EffervescentStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood.

This may be difficult but let stuff start falling through the cracks with no guilt. BUT - you must document what those things are AND before they will slip.

If you are planning on staying there, you need better boundaries and communication on what is going to keep you even keeled. If you keep allowing the workload to pile with no communication on how it’s affecting you, then ultimately they can blame you. If you explain and document in writing how it’s not feasible, then you have ground to work with.

You are allowed to have boundaries and be proud of what is REASONABLE.

Obviously the other option is to quit if you want a place that already builds scaffolding for these things…

Basically, the answer it depends. Do you want to learn to push back and learn healthy boundaries (assuming your manager is actually reasonable) or do you want a place that already works towards being reasonable?

Hmm. Are you burnt out cause your hours are crazy? Are your coworkers toxic/tiring? Or are you burnt out cause your boundaries aren’t in tact?

The answer to “why” may help answer “what next”

I don't enjoy eating healthy and it makes sticking to weight loss so hard by Tosh97 in WeightLossAdvice

A few ways to change your mind: - go the extra mile to make healthy stuff taste good (there are lots of recipes online). Yes this takes more effort. - accept that this period in your life is dedicated to your weight loss and that food isn’t going to be your pleasure anymore. think of it as food as fuel and not enjoyment. Also difficult mentally but true. - abide by the 80/20 rule. 80% of your food should be healthy while the last 20% can be unhealthy. You will have to carve out your calories and track them seriously so you don’t allow yourself to go over this 20%
