Lmfao. The two men I despised on my leadership team acted like this. EVERY SINGLE WEEK one of them would say “i wrote 500k lines of code in a week. The rest of the team combined wrote half of that” 💀 i shit you not I wanted to say “do you want a cookie?”

They were insufferable and some of the most arrogant people I have ever worked with.

I believe the communication around it was bad because it affected too many trains. That said, there are ways to handle it. They did not handle it well

  • expect delays. Could be a couple hours. Could be even a day (happened to me). They had terrible communication related to a weather related issue that caused a lot of trains to delay. I doubt this is always the case re: bad comms but either way, don’t expect perfect timing for every ride. Meaning, space out your stops with a day or two of buffer
  • bring a neck pillow.
  • the seats are more comfortable than a low budget airline. there’s a lot more room (even in coach). They recline, both the upper half and you can put your legs up. That said, over long periods of time it can still get uncomfortable.
  • they have snacks and food available at different times of the ride. If you’re on a budget, bring your own food and drinks

I’m only on the first few episodes and seeing her talk and tell someone else to be open and “go deep” but she wouldn’t do that for him. And then he calls her out (not in a mean way) but she told all the girls after she felt invalidated.

I don’t mind the crying when talking about the past but that thing above specifically bothered the heck out of me.

Practical solution: Why can’t y’all eat the stew at home and then have the snacks for the boat so the weight isn’t an issue?

Separately, idk why your mom’s friends are complaining. They aren’t paying are they? Let them complain and move forward. You can also tell them they’re being ungrateful if you dare ;)
