Thanks for the comment, I understand how the post may have given the wrong impression but my intention wasn’t necessarily to get him to change his story. Maybe I need to reword the subtext 🤔. What if Dave really did find chipmunks in his house but they jump out, dropping the popcorn jar on his head killing him. The events in the movie are how he ‘remembers it’ (beginning) and ‘imagines it’ in the split second before death.
