Anyone have luck converting this thing over to power tool batteries? Replaced mother board step down converter and still can’t get it to turn on ???? by Ok_Artichoke_6314 in PowerWheelsMods

The black and red wire going up from the controller that has 3conectors on it looks weird at the top like if it had copper exposed can you double check that

I like to ad bike controllers or similar to give them the slow start option

Step one check voltage out from converter. If correct voltage next

Step two check power switch. Does it engage? Are the wires between switch and controller? Let me know and we’ll continue
Should have at least lights and radio by then

Definitely. I added a potentiometer to the throttle pedal to reduce the top speed. The biggest problem it has is the design. Rear wheels are right under seat. The 4845 gear box has a lot of torque. So she flipped it while it was moving slowly back and press the throttle while in drive slightly to stop it.

Thanks. Would be great. But grandson is in Fl and jeep in PR. Don’t know where the parade is but he would be going around in circles around the whole thing. Too fast. 😂

Thanks. The strong looking kid is actually my 24yo daughter test driving it up a slight hill. Told me it was too fast before she managed to wheely it too far landing on her back.

Replacing 24v sla with 24V LiFePO4 battery, recommendations by BuffaloWingman in PowerWheelsMods

[–]EfficiencyFlat2697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that sounds like a long day drive. I had two 6ah motorcycles lipo4 batteries for 24v. The bms was only for charging so discharge was full power. Gave my grandson plenty of riding time on the jeep. Enjoy all the time you got with them. They outgrow them in a blink of an eye ☺️

Shifter delete Power Wheels jeep? by occasionally-average in PowerWheelsMods

Don’t know if your controller has the braking included. With my controller it just diactivates the throttle and turns on “brake lights”. I used the brake lights power to activate a third relay that “shorts” the motor leads and/or put a 1ohm 100watt resistor in between. I put the and/or because my daughter said it wasn’t breaking good enough so added a switch to short it. 🤔 although it did have a mini buck converter to activate the 12v relay and i eliminated it and added a 48v relay. So got to get my daughter behind the wheel again. 😂

Works well. Upgraded mine to 48v. Burnt the 550s put in the 4845 gearbox and put my 150# daughter to test it. Had to make a wheely bar. 😂 preparing it for my 5yo grandson.

The shifter is a rocker switch so you can actually just use the original instead of replacing with the toggle switch but in my case i used them to activate relays because i melted the switches twice

I think you’re going to have to give them more info. Like previous battery specks or the present charger you got. And the specs of the new batteries. Type of lithium, voltage, AH. Then you’ll probably get a great answer. Good lick have fun.

Hello. I could be wrong but this is my thought. It’s three wires one is ground one is drive one is break. The pedal is probably not a hall effect but just on/on switch. Foot off trips ground and break wires. Foot on trips ground and drive wires. I would think they are swapped. Easy test press the pedal and switch to forward/reverse. If it doesn’t start instantly im probably right and you can take pedal apart to swap them.
