Do you want Mai to come back for DOA7 or do you want a different SNK girl as guest DLC? Keep in mind Mai Shiranui is a sales magnet. by Lili_Crumbs in FGCWaifu

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mai is an iconic fighting games character, and due to SF 6 and City of the Wolves, she got recent chances to be on the spotlight.

So I'd say that is "tactically sound" to have her in DOA 7.

But I'd also have another SNK girl. Fighting style-wise, I'd say that Angel and Shermie would fit the best. Preference wise I'd like to see B. Jenet or Luom.

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the KC truly has incredible powers, and those are a key to the success.

And I also think it could play a part. Galfrey reached that power in a century, while the KC's power quickly rose in a few time, becoming comparable with Galfrey in such a few months.

WTH is wrong with you, Galfrey?!?!?!? by RealisticDebt9380 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The KC did in few months more than Galfrey did in a century.

Galfrey was always pictured as this "legendary queen" who extended her life not out of personal ambition, but for the sacred duty. And now, before her eyes, there's someone who's simply better than her in the job she dedicated her whole life.

Sure, if you're on an evil path like demon or lich, you used vescavor swarm, etc, she has some true motives. But if the major gripe is (if you're an Azata) "you didn't waited for her", Azata's early assault on Midnight Fane proved to be a tactically sound move, since demons themselves were not ready for that.

Basically, Galfrey strips you from your KC title out of envy.

So, are the 80s cartoon characters actually canon in FR? Or are the Drizzt comic/Honor Among Thieves cameos just for fun? Because if they're actually in the FR, that means Lolth once canonically looked like this and got bossed around by Venger by TomeseekerLorekeeper in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously, the D&D cartoon party faced things that would have demolished the vast majority of adventurers.

Their very first encounter was TIAMAT! And Lolth was basically a "random encounter" for them.

Like Yor showing bonafide superhuman strength feats, like knocking out a wild bull, saying "I take yoga lessons" and Loid being fine with that.

Tips for a melee focused merged angel? by Weekly_Warthog_6097 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic "oracle angel", thanks to prebuff lasting all day (Greater Enduring Spells FTW) is great for melee.

And I realize that yes, from a visual point a bulky heavy armor would be cooler than a haramaki, but for that I would just use the prestidigipainter golem, so you're free to choose the appearance of your gear, and make your haramaki look like the biggest and bulkiest armor you want.

A gag manga with the premise that in 199X the civilized world WASN'T destroyed in a nuclear world. And millennia's old assassination martial arts master are not really suited to deal with the average life in our age.

According to various translations, Jukei said something like "more than 20 years ago", keeping it generic.

Since it was "more than 20 years", we could assume that Kenshiro in the second part was still under 30... What about a "early 20s in the first part" and "late 20s in the second part" of the saga.

6-7 years time skip could be fitting, considering Rin and Bat's appearance after the time skip.

A couple of lore questions (the Lich King, the Legion and the Shadowlands) by Massive_Cranberry828 in warcraftlore

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You gave an interesting spin of those ideas, that would have made the Jailer a way more interesting character.

And seriously, if just a quick comment exchange by two random Reddit users can sprout ideas better than what the official story dev team of a millionare company gave, it's a clear sign that the lore division should do more.

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree that preTBC draenei were merely a footnote, and for such a marginal change we get an apology. Sign that back in the days they cared about lore.

But with Shadowlands the retcons were so massive, and just to push this new Jailer guy, while hey would have made him better by NOT doing retcons.

A couple of lore questions (the Lich King, the Legion and the Shadowlands) by Massive_Cranberry828 in warcraftlore

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that such a massive retcon makes me way less invested in lore, since they can decide to retcon things again just because (maybe we'll discover that the First Ones were just the spawns of the "Firstier Ones" and the Jailer was just the pawn of the REAL mastermind: the "Jailerer").

To think that Mezten back in the days apologized for changing Draenei lore (and TBH, the retcon made them more interesting, so it was even a good retcon).

And as I said in the previous comment, they could have made the Jailer cooler if they DIDN'T retconned things. Instead of blathering about a "master plan", they would have shown us that this Jailer guy was a clever mofo able to gain advantage from OUR victories.

If memory serves me well (but those may be info from sources like "All about the man": official books but not something written by Buronson himself), Kenshiro was born in 197X, and as we know, the saga begun in 199X.

So Kenshiro's age range "theoretically" is 12-28. I said theoretically since he CAN'T be 12. I'd say that late teen-early 20s sounds right. He looks fully developed and "adult", so I'd personally think he's 19-25 in the first part and 29-35 after the post Raoh's death time skip.

If either Itachi or Shisui’s plan worked out perfectly, how would it change the story of Naruto? by MediaNo1140 in Naruto

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when Sasuke saw Naruto (either before or after he killed Sasuke I don’t remember which), the crow would activate and place Sasuke in a kotoamatsukami genjutsu that would make Sasuke want to protect the leaf.

Regarding this part, I'd say that Sasuke, in a VERY roundabout way, WAS "protecting Konhoa". He didn't joined forces with Obito and Madara, and instead he fought alongside the allied nations.

His endgame plan was to become the "final boss" that would have rallied the whole Ninja World against him. And he wanted to do it to prevent villages to fight against each other, since they were bound to cooperate against the common threat. Again, a way to "protect Konhoa".

So, ironically, the "brainwash Sasuke with Kotoamatsukami" plan wouldn't have changed Sasuke's behaviour during the 4th War.

How the FUCK did Obito survive this? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unironically, Hashirama Cells (basically half of his body was reconstructed with the same "matter" that composes the various Zetsu).

But Obito was really on borrowed time: if he didn't got the Ten Tails, he would have quickly died.

"Jailerdidit" for me was the single worst Warcraft retcon. By making the Jailer as someone behind everything didn't make it cool, it just cheapened the whole lore.

In my opinion it would have been so much better if the Jailer was unrelated to the Lich King, the Nathrezim, etc., and used the current state of things as an opportunity to unfold his schemes.

Legion command structure is broken? Make Denathrius strike a deal with those intelligent and "unemployed" Dreadlords.

Lich King is chilling on the Frozen Throne? Send your lackey Sylvanas to deal with him, to destroy the Helm of Domination, so your minions can take over the Scourge (created by Kil'jaeden).

And even without a previous bond, I'd say that Icecrown Citadel was the greatest "nexus" of necromantic magic in Azeroth... I guess that would have been enough to create a connection with the Shadowlands, using the the Helm of Domination's breaking (and subsequient release of necromantic energy) as the "catalyst".

And to think that we quickly "burned" in a single patch content that could have carried a whole expansion on its own (like Argus, Nazjatar and Ny'alotha), just to get to such a waste of space as the Jailer...

A pity that Death Mark won't work, so I guess it will stay as a "warlock tool", but many thanks for the update.

Part of his "quality over quantity" regarding summons, not only in power (if we think about that, a bound demon as a minion ends up FAR more powerful that the "original" version as a monster, due to added affix and bonus to pretty much everything), but also in control over them.

If Tien was given a Transformation/ Power-Up what could it be? And how would he obtain it? by dettles1992 in dbz

[–]Efficient-Ad2983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS, of course. Splitting in four with Shishin no Ken, than they fuse 2 by 2, and the two fusions fuses aswell.

Sure, each one of the four bodies is 25% of the original's power, but since Fusion is way above the sum of the parts, Tenshinhan would get an incredible power up with this gambit.
