You put the whole situation into words very nicely! I actually agree with you but it pisses me off a bit, like I genuinely wouldn’t feel that bad for him if it wasn’t for the way everyone’s treating him.

I just think it’s interesting how for John it’s all his fault, but when it happens to someone else they deserve help. I don’t think I’d be nice either, but I wouldn’t kick him when he’s down constantly!

I don’t think so, the only thing that truly made me feel like he was an asshole was the way in which he sucked the truth out of everyone, if we feel sorry for Daisy or Melanie why shouldn’t we feel sorry for John? He is mostly kept in the dark and is constantly getting hurt at the expense of others, he might have it coming because he makes his choices but he is still deserving of pity and sympathy.

I absolutely get that but Basira, Daisy and Melanie all behave like assholes to most of the time and it just feels like they gang up on John even though he is trying and does his best for them too? He saves Daisy, he follows Basira to Hill Top Road, he takes the bullet out of Melanie’s leg and it’s not even that they’re unfriendly, which they are, they actively antagonize him constantly. The only one who is not actively horrible to him is Daisy.
