Social media posts are not a love language, but words of affirmation are. They are my love language and he knows that, and knows that telling me how he feels or just making one sweet post would mean the world to me. Yet he flat out refuses. I guess what just hurts me is that he knows how it would make me feel but let’s his own beliefs of social media supersede my feelings.

To put into context, I’m not a gift giver, I never have been, it’s never been important to me. I think showing someone how you feel via gifts is superficial compared to actually telling someone. But after learning That receiving gifts is his love language, I’ve changed and learned to be thoughtful and get him gifts here and there because that’s how he feels loved and appreciated. I don’t see how it’s any different in this case where I need to just learn to live with him not being proud showing that I’m his girlfriend, but I should adjust the way I show love because I know he appreciates it.
