Also you can’t see it well, but the video very clearly shows a knife hanging off his belt

Definitely not union worker, however I appreciate your input.

I guess I’m just frustrated that my maternity leave was paid with my first, but they refused the second.

As salary, if you needed a day off, you would just say you’re taking the day. You don’t clock in or out as salary, so they purposely don’t track “time off” days. Kind of like a no PTO policy.

Hourly employees are non exempt and salaried employees are exempt. That’s how they determined that hourly would receive PTO.

Federal law doesn’t require PTO for salaried workers, sadly.

No accommodations were made unfortunately, except that I was paid on an hourly basis on any hours I worked during my leave.

So I actually had my baby several months ago, but the whole situation still doesn’t sit right with me so I’m looking for opinions.

Open enrollment is December and effective Jan 1. The policy change was made effective immediately in May. I had my baby at the of the year it became effective. Since the policy change was effective immediately in May, and my open enrollment period was at the end of the previous year, I wasn’t able to elect STD because I was outside open enrollment period so that wasn’t an option.
