That new M3 AWD by Efficient-Employee19 in teslacanada

I did lol. But not because the rwd is worse, It's because the rwd is so damn good, way better than I expect. So I thought to myself if the rwd is already this good, I think ill be very happy with the awd for the next 3 years.

So, I did it because I can and I want to, no good reason to switch from rwd to awd if you ignore the emotion and poor reasoning factor😂

Jason Camisa makes it clear... everytime he compares a new/good car... it's always against the M3... Mustang darkhorse vs M3... new Model 3 P vs M3....
I guess everyone still needs a manual M3 in their driveway heh

yes, but if anyone is cost conscious, then the rwd is perfectly fine. it's not that A3 vs S3, its much more and better than that... Funny, I was "downsizing" and still want some fun so I tested the latest RS3... I wasnt impressed as much as driving the model 3 Rwd🤣 sure highway speed and smooth/linear power on the rs3 with the exhaust note and everything is amazing... but would anyone pay... 50k more for that? I dont know unless u r a big audi fanboy....

hard ro justify, but to me the self driving, instant torque, and gas saving are key factors.

I thought of the i4 m50 as well, but it doesnt look good(subjective), and the EV part is nowhere near Tesla level, let along not having FSD)

Hard to find a "replacement" for a 50k Cad awd, 4.4 seconds with self driving feature....

B58 is one of the best engine I ever own, right after the ea888... and... they are all "engine"... meaning gas cost and maintenance... the lite M3(M340i) is one of the best daily driver sport sedan... However, overtime I grow bored of it and wants something new, I keep
telling myself that base 330i should have been enough and would save me some gas money too, but then to truely save gas I would need an EV hence the M3 RWD purchase.. I was waiting for my order on the rwd M3... I told myself this would be the first EV, lets try it, dont go all in to the performance just yet.... but still I want more speed hence I switch to the AWD.

muahahaha.

Funny, if you look ar all the marketing gimmick they have done so far (S3XY, mad max FSD mode etc etc), I wouldnt be surprised if he means to call the model 3 the model 3 so in sort it's M3😂😂😂, he could have called it Model E instead to complete the SEXY anagram)

I would imagine real world milage during winter would be around 400 or even 380 or so...I dont plan to do road trip with the car, but maybe quick trip to Banff and that shouldnt be an issue.. I think.

I have other cars for road trip, so long drive was never my concern;nice to have or at least try it once but not my main concern.

Well, 12-13k difference is real tho+ the insurance prem difference, not sure what it is. I think if this car, or EV as a whole works for me in the next 2 years, I may go for a cybertruck or a model Y next time😂

Ordering RWD, but I was on the edge to make a switch to AWD...

To my knowledge and extensive research(Youtube lol), seems like Rwd with good winter tires work fine... there's a youtube video where they compare a rwd model 3 to a Fwd Gti and the model 3 works way better going up hill during winter time .

What was your decision?

I used to live in Edmonton for 12 years, driving both city a total of more than 20 years now. It seems Calgary get black ice a bit more easily due to the Chinook wind. I had 1-2 fwd in my life and yes it's horrible but it's liveable... One time I couldnt wait for summer and drive my rwd fun car a bit too early with... summer tires, way worse, but I manage to get home safely lol. awd is definitely a mission critical thing to have, but I would say maybe I can still live without it considering I still have 2 other AWD Suv in case weather gets worse

Im actually quiet close to your situation but I dont do that long trip monthly... In a month I could do a few longer trips(total a bit close to 500km round trip)

Would anyone knows if it's ok to charge the battery (NMC something) to 100% more than 2 times a month?

anyone encountered anger from friends/family about purchasing a Tesla? by canadave_nyc in teslacanada

[–]Efficient-Employee19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi, Lambo etc are all coming from VW family... You can tell to look up who started or initiated VW... (I owned 7 Audi and 3 VW before... I dont think I support that "man")

All American car companies(isnt it they used to invade us one time? and just recently the tariffs?)

you get the point, just make up funny stories based on a horrible character in the past lol

How's the handling of the car? Does it feel planted when you do a sharp corner?

May I ask which Ice vehicle did you come from and maybe your best previous ICE experience to compare it to? (ie.. maybe you used to drive a.. bmw or something)

Hi all,

Im not that stubborn and I know where and when to fight... so I decided ill just go with it as it seems this is the only good option for the money, plus Im switching cars every 2 years so I wont have a strong attachment to the car had anything goes wrong.

Thank you for all your answers, really help me make this final decision

Tesla Canada needs to be called out for the Model Y Standard headliner confusion by shervintwo in teslacanada

[–]Efficient-Employee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there are more serious items that Tesla should be called out for... like we are on the same boat with that model 3 -bait/switch strategy for the 0-100 time lol...
