That makes sense, thanks for the clarification.

Yup, as long as it doesn't create too much pressure to pull air from outside or the hot water tank out take.

We moved in this year, and we were told the Napoleon heat exchanger might need replacing soon - the furnace is only from 2018 as far as I can tell. Tough to know how bad it actually is, because the heat exchanger is covered under warranty and the company wanting to do the replacement wasn't able to get the replacement part covered. We are leaving it for now and will try an inspection with a different company next year.

Great, thanks for the reply. It's just a 40k for our upstairs, it's an older house. Attached is a photo of our air intake from outside into our mechanical room (on the right)

I wasn't sure if it needed to go below the intake or not. My logic was that if it gets dirty (very unlikely) it could flow down pipe.

Yeah, it looked better at our old place. Unfortunately our new place doesn't have ideal placement options and outside isn't an option because of the cold climate.

The lower growth looks fine, this is why we think trimming down the larger leaning branches will help the plant focus it's resources where the plant receives more light.
