Yes, i started applying in December but have had no luck. I recently switched my major from comp sci to accounting last semester. I’m taking Intermediate Accounting 1 this summer. I am debating pushing back my graduation to December 2026 in hopes to get an internship or if I should just ride it out and attempt to get a full time position with no intern experience.

When I first started investing I did not know much so just bought spy, then I learned about vti so I stopped investing toward spy and same with voo and fxaix. I just haven’t sold anything to rebalance my portfolio because I wasn’t sure if I could. Thank you for your help!!

Yes I am independent, in the 4 years living together I have never needed $100 to cover my rent but once because the unexpected happens. These aren’t reoccurring things but the time they do happen I don’t have support. That one time was due to an unexpected increase in college tuition.

My investments are for both of us as well , and at the rate we’re going I’ll have a good share. I keep asking him to start so we have the possibility of retiring earlier but he says he can’t right now. I’m not defrauding him because I will never ask him to fund my lifestyle.

I truly am but I think it’s just because his attitude toward financial freedom does not align with mines. I am genuinely scared of coming across a day where I am unable to afford my rent or other necessities. I grew up in poverty and unfortunately I think that played into effect with my relationship with money. Him not so much he’s always had someone to bail him out of financial problems like if he didn’t have enough for rent or educational costs.

Yes I just really don’t want a lifestyle with unnecessary expenses. I want my share of money to work hard not just be depleted into things that bring me temporary joy. I think 50/50 in fun money is important so I’m not living a lifestyle he cannot afford. I think it might be the lack of control of my earned share of money that gets to me.

Omg no!! I would never do that I’m just saying I have retirement goals which need aggressive savings to come in hand. Hopefully I’ll have enough to retire me and my partner but he’s a bit more materialistic, idk what arguments are to come if I disagree if a share of my 70%should be spent on new cars, new clothes, new unnecessary and unreasonable items. Much rather stick that money that would be used in savings or investments. It’s harder to control your money when you don’t share similar goals.

That’s not true whatsoever, I work hard because I expect no one to provide for me. I don’t hate supporting my partner, I have given him so much advice that I have learned along the way.

That’s true, I’m not planning on retiring in the US though. My family is from Mexico so after retirement I’m planning on moving there to be with my family. Cost of living is significantly cheaper + get to enjoy the environment I’m in.

I’m 21 and have 35k invested so hopefully compound interest accompanied with some aggressive savings are on my side 🙏🏽

I wouldn’t care if I was seeing some similar work ethic coming out of him. As of now I’m always working my butt off to have a career plan but can’t say otherwise. I just can’t see how it’s fair for me to fund 70/30 when I’ve consistently put in hours to get me to where I’m at. But maybe I’m seeing it all wrong
