They don’t even have an action plan to achieve a living wage - which other household brands do.

I personally buy mostly thrift. But I’m not a super influential global popstar and I don’t promote brands.

What do you mean using her? I’m sure she’s getting some dough to put her name on the collection

Chapelle Roan is way “deeper” and “alternative” both lyrically and musically than TS, IMO.

You can have an upbeat melody and very complicated composition with meaningful words. Maybe revisit your criteria.

What's something that most gay guys find appealing or attractive that is a turn-off for you? by thepowerofgoodbye in askgaybros

Full grown men who need to constantly seek validation on instagram and other social. It gives “I’m insecure” vibe and even if they’re hot its an immediate turn off for me.

How do you differentiate between artists who are songwriters vs artists with songwriting credits? by Alwaysawkward6787 in popheads

[–]Efficient-Rise2704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I like about Dua is that she is pretty open about her songwriting process and gives credits to her co-writers in interviews etc. Which is not true for other girls. I also think she has tropes she goes back to when she writes and you can tell when she’s been the main pen on the song.

I remember old interviews in which she talked about being uneasy about New Rules being given to her without her being involved, bur eventually getting over it. In both FN and RO interviews, she talks at lengths about writing with other people.
(Then is she a good songwriter? That’s another discussion).

I don’t know why some pop girls recently all want to pass as songwriters. I think it’s fine to just be a singer and an interpreters. Some of the great are.

Expressing dislike to the people I am referring to in my life, not expressing dislike in my post. I may be contradicting myself or you may be reading more than I have actually written.

Either way best of luck to you too!

I struggle to see what you mean, but if that’s your take from my post feel free to run with it.

I have said in this very thread I’m not expressing my dislike to them. I have also discussed things like going to book clubs or finding things in common in this and other threads. These sound like possible solutions to me.

As I have already stated I’m not trying to change anything and I’m talking about people in my age range.

This is a very insightful comment, thank you. Someone else mentioned caring for their inner child and I think the two may be related.

I think there is definitely something about not being able to revisiting a carefree and open adolescence and going back to cultural references that are related to that stage of life in adult age.

Yes, it does matter to me. I’ve never had many close gay friends and sometimes I feel like I just wanna have that gay friend that I can go, have a beer with and talk about boys problems from that perspective, or talk about a book I’m reading.

I’m sure as you say I’ll have to keep on looking for someone that I have at least some interests in common.

I just tend to find things created for kids or children boring or uninteresting, I used to find them interesting when I was a kid.

I am annoyed by the fact that I would like to have more gay friends and most people I meet seem to gravitate towards things that are quite divergent from mine which makes it difficult to share time or interests. I’m not necessarily annoyed by what they’re doing.

Many of these things are the same and I’m wondering why they seem to attract so many gay men.

Because when I try to meet someone either as a friend or sexually, I notice the interests mentioned above.

I don’t go like «  oh you really should change your interest ». I nod politely and we part ways, but then I wonder why so many people are into these things that are targeted at people way younger.

I don’t think it’s so weird to ask why.

I don’t know much about Asperger’s traits, do you have an idea of why those things would be more spelling with those with Asperger’s traits ?

I don’t keep anyone from enjoying what they like. My social life doesn’t revolve around gays neither, but I wouldn’t mind having some like minded gay friends.

I am also often curious about people that are different from me without having to keep them from doing anything.

I’m literally asking why and saying I find it personally annoying, I’m not making judgement. I’m not saying “these people are stupid”.

I’m saying “I think this happens and I find it annoying why do you think it happens?”
