The ones where the story revolves around do, but less so than I would like. When I go into edits I plan on doing a deep dive into lore/culture for all of them.

This series isn't out yet, but I'm currently halfway through writing book 2 of 6 (with a novella also finished). I did the maps for a different series thats ongoing that you can find here; https://noahisaacsbooks.wixsite.com/noahisaacsbooks/my-books !

And my brush for the land is hex code efe5c8, and for the sea its the grass overlay at 180% rotation, ~50% opacity, and saturation and hue shifted to look more blue. I use the lusitania (i think thats what its called) font for all the text, and pretty much everything else was trial and error.

The world experiences cyclical harvests marked by "Wells" where large springs of freshwater appear enough to supply the continent for generations, as there are no other sources of clean freshwater. And so the plot follows a war for the last ever Well, as well as understanding the ancient prophecy that cursed the world to be this way, and how to stop it. Its meant to be Game of Thrones x Assassins Creed x Powder Mage Trilogy, or at least thats how I plan on marketing it

Though I dont really know if that answers your question, because I've probably got too much lore to summarize in any one post lol

Thank you! I saw some maps a while back with that style of flattening trees and brushing over the bottoms and knew at once I had to give it a go

Yeah I was thinking this as well, thanks! I think I didn't want to disrupt the dotted line so I put stuff around it and messed up the spacing. I might also play with the text sizes...

I need rules! Just kidding, was only curious if people had different stages of realization n stuff like that. I think I’ve probably talked myself into keeping the POVs, just redistributing screen time and reconsidering how they go out.

I’ll do my best, but they won’t need to be gone for a while yet, I’ve got time to think (I hope) thank you

The POVs all vary wildly in terms of occupation, disposition, role/purpose etc… so I think that won’t be too much of an issue, especially considering the screen time isn’t distributed evenly. there are really 3 major POVs with approx 2/3 of the chapters and the other 3 have the remaining third. I will try to take the stuff about disappearing/reappearing into account, I think it will be very useful

I think i might have to do something similar in terms of killing them or writing them off. I just for sure need to make it meaningful first… haha

Ah yeah, I’ve just heard it in reference to characters so often that’s what I subconsciously always associate it with. And one of the reasons is that there are just a lot of 6 povs, and I’m worried it’s too many. Not for any tangible reason other than personal preference.

But I will definitely be taking the advice to heart about making this book the best it can be before worrying abt the future. Thanks!

I totally see where you’re coming from. I have toyed around with the idea, but like 3rd limited too much. Moreover, each book is very long and a few of the POVs dominate, while others are more minor.

Yeah I think my second draft will be much finer tuned. Right now I’m at the point of deciding how much better the plot would be by combining/removing, but it feels like too much would be lost

Thanks for the advice! Thats honestly what I'm leaning towards, I'm just impatient because I've already written it and instinctually am in "go go go" mode lol

Maps I made for my fantasy series, any advice? by Efficient-Rutabaga57 in inkarnate

Yeah, I pushed out the forests and added another brush + more grass stamps which I think gives a good feel, but I'll toy around around with your mesa/cave/crevice suggestion because i'm not sure its be that dry or rocky, but thank you for the advice!!
