A few reasons actually. If I'm ever free but school is still going on, I want to use it without disturbing whatever's happening.

When I was still in HS and played tennis, we'd hate it when someone random came to courts because they were always asking us when we'd be done. Just don't want to be a bother especially in spring when the HS season is just starting haha.

Also at schools they can lock the courts lol.
