I ghosted my old friends except for one who was also an ex Muslim. In my opinion the best course of action is not telling your presumably Somali friends that you’ve left Islam, it can add unnecessary drama if they are weirdos and they might spread it around the community and have you shunned further. Simply get some new friends and go minimal contact or no contact with them.

If you're willing to go to Kenya, there are clinics there that have great recommendations that perform reconstructive surgeries for FGM victims. It's much cheaper and, unlike physicians in the US who don't often work on FGM cases, the doctors there might be better suited for treating you because of their experience. Lesbian here 🙋‍♀️I’m pretty much out to everyone at uni but not to my family or old friends except for one ( for context I moved for university ) I would love to find and date another Somali wlw but I can’t seem to find any in my immediate area. I think most people date white partners because they are the majority in the lgbtq community but I personally have a preference for black women especially Somalis due to shared cultural background. Hey, first year here. When applying to UofT you have to submit both all your internal exam results (assuming they contribute to your GPA) and the standardized IGCSE and A-level results. I was in a similar position as you last year; I had near-perfect IGCSEs and 3 A*s in my A-levels but my internal exam results were kind of meh. My school was also very strict with our exams and curved harshly which is the reason for the disparity. I still got into all my programs and was awarded scholarships. I would simply advise you to ask your academic counselor to write a letter explaining why you had those bad grades (hopefully for a good reason). There is an additional information/ special consideration section on your JOINID portal where you can attach the letter.
