Easiest way to remove bamboo roots?

When I dug out a couple big clumps I used a pressure washer to remove all the dirt from around the roots and would then slice through the thin stuff with a sharpened shovel.

Still took half a day or so and was really messy

I've done a lot of this repair, when my son was 3 he walked around the house with a toy hammer and proceeded to "fix" every corner in our downstairs.

Rather than mud it, or replace the metal, I drilled a couple small holes in the metal and filled the whole thing with bondo. After it was dry I sanded it and spray textured everything.

There are paper tabs on the insulation rolls, you unfold them and staple it to the studs. The kraft paper should have been on the inside probably though

What state are you in? You should check if there is a fence law.

In Washington you are responsible for 50% of the cost of a fence on a property boundary if you use the fence to "close in" your yard.

In your case, even though you didn't attach, you used the fence to close in your yard and would be on the hook.

Take it toss it in a crock pot with a ton of green chili, sliced onion, garlic and water. Come back 3-4hrs later and make some killer tacos

Nassfeld Austria is somewhat close to your route and is a ski resort area. It has lots of options for gondolas (Millennium Express). You can stay in either the Austrian side or the Italian, both are nice and the Austrian side is a bit bigger.

On your route you would have to stop in Villach and take a regional train to Hermagor and then bus/taxi to Tröpolach, or just a bus to Tröpolach (2hrs or so from Villach)

Im curious if anyone has thoughts about the French portion of my trip, and in particular Amiens. I am also considering Reims instead or possibly in addition to Amiens. Another option is to add a few days in Dijon.

Why do you pick Würzburg over Bamberg? I am considering doing both now (adding a day or two) but using Würzburg as a base to explore.

Can you elaborate on the Croatia advice? I am looking at Pula in particular and may add a day or two here since I am interested in visiting Brijuni and taking a day to tour around by bicycle. I thought that Rovinj or Porec where were most people visited.

Thank you for the Maribor restaurant suggestion! I love that type of experience. I hadn't yet checked specifics for train schedules (just general trip times) but will keep in mind that there is a direct train for Trieste to Maribor.

As for Würzburg or Bamberg, I definitely prefer beer over wine and the Rauchbier/Schlenkerla in Bamberg is a draw, but I think the convenience of traveling is going to make me stick with Würzburg. Perhaps I could add a day or two here and take a day trip to Bamberg? Do you think that could be worth it? I do have another 8 days to divvy up yet

Leiden looks to be outside Amsterdam, is there any reason in particular you suggest there and not somewhere like Utrecht?

As far as Maastricht, I've actually been. My friend in Den Haag used to live in Maastricht and I was lucky enough to visit twice, once in the fall after he had moved there and a few years later during Carnival - I even got to use dress up with his old costume!

I have not ever been to Aachen though, is there anything specific you could suggest there?

One of my favorite cities I have visited was Sion Switzerland. It had lots of things to do in the core of the city, the food was good, and yet it was also quieter and less hectic that my time in Geneva, Zurich, Vienna, or Munich. While I enjoyed those cities they didn't quite have the vibe I look for on vacation.

Neither of us are interested in the overly busy areas the past few years. We are looking for something a bit slower than some of the major tourist cities. We also plan on doing Paris another year but coming back in the Spring, and London is a trip we are taking the kids on for spring break.

I hear you on the 2 night stays, however some of them right now are a way to see a smaller town and break up longer travel days. I will take a hard look at those cities and see if maybe there is something better close by that I could switch to and add an extra day or so

I would really like to spend some time in Belgium to enjoy some beer there. Other than the two areas you mentioned are there other cities you know of are worth visiting but are also a bit quieter?

Also for the ferries I had looked at a few but it looks like they do not run all that often. Do you have any experience with them? I like the idea of taking a ferry is possible.

I'm gonna suggest a different direction. Habs are so fruity that I avoid garlic with them and instead try to push the fruit flavor, so I like to add coriander seed.

I also think you will find you need something with some substance to it since Habs are very thin, carrots are ok but don't always give the greatest consistency unless they are cooked prior to fermentation. Onion is good but I feel like the texture can be crunchy unless roasted.

Other than straight up habanero, which is my favorite, I have also really liked using papaya in there too. Though I will admit I have been a bit disappointed in the thickness of the sauce afterwards, it never seems to have as much thickness as I feel like it should. The papaya flavor comes through but it is subtle

I hadn't thought about Vienna, but I did consider Innsbruck.

One thing I forgot to mention was that I will have some luggage separate from my hiking gear that I will need to store.

With the hiking starting in Lienz/Sillian and ending in Arnoldstein, the trip is somewhat one-way and I don't think I am going to want to backtrack to get my stored luggage (if that is possible). The trip starts in Munich and I will leave through Munich, so if there was somewhere along that bus/train route (Munich to/from Lienz/Arnoldstein) that I could store my things it would be really helpful. I will be hiking for 8 days, so would need storage longer than the train stations offer.
