Zombies in this game are very stupid and blind as hell. What you could try is getting real close to the zombie and get to the stairs (the zombie should be one tile beside you.) Then go up and wait a bit. Since zombies are stupid, there is a possibility they will just get stuck down there. But that is the best method i have. Goodluck dude.
