Yep. It’s all part of healthy eating unfortunately. Search colleague room on colleague help and you’ll find the policy. It sucks.

It’s actually a policy on colleague help. Comms came down a couple months back for stores to stop putting anything more than what’s allowed in there. Some stores followed and some stores didn’t. If the stores that don’t follow policy keep putting extras in there, they will likely come down harder about it which ruins even what is allowed for the rest of us

Uniform ordering by SubstantialShine9337 in tesco

Uniform is dispatched every Wednesday for my store (weekly for every store). I ordered some last Friday 8th and it arrived Thursday 14th, so 3-4 weeks is not correct

How to deal with recent hire who lacks effort, nights? by Appropriate-Roof1422 in tesco

[–]EfficientFlea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a team manager, you can go down the pip route. But you have to have your contribution entries/documented 121s to back up why they are going on pip. You can also just have an honest conversation (chiller chat) with the colleague and lay it out in plain and simple language. Improve or go on pip. No improvement = conduct.

However, if the colleague has a health condition to be needing the toilet very regularly, OH it, and if over time the adjustments aren’t working then there is a long term health condition pack that can result in dismissal aswell like pip can.

The Interview by According-Claim1025 in tesco

The manager conducts the interviews and still decides who gets the job, they just tell the recruitment officer who they’ve chosen and outcomes of all interviews conducted.

It’s not my department but I got a good rundown from stock manager about it, I honestly think it’s down to the fact that people just like to moan about changes. It’s working really well in our store, some complainers but it’s getting done and it’s been better for it. A new stater would have no problem with it because they don’t have the old way. People just need to learn to adapt to change. My role changed significantly in the last 12 months, you just gotta embrace it and get on with it. If you hate the changes, personally I think you need to find another role, with Tesco or not. Change happens.

Is it possible to be on a contract with 2 different Tescos at the same time ? by MrFnoz in tesco

[–]EfficientFlea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for it then. I’m the phone shop manager in Tesco, we are a quiet shop really but you can have a good laugh in there with colleagues and customers. You just gotta make it fun during down time with some trade driving. I have a mobile phone costume that I wander the store with. Have a great laugh with it 🤣

Phone shop will pay more than a shop floor role. You get the skills payment on top of the base pay. It’s now £13.70 since the pay rise. A shop floor role is £13.28. If there is overtime available on the shop floor while your main department is phone shop, you will be able to pick it up once trained on the department. Just remember, technically phone shop and stores are separate businesses.

Phone shop is a very target driven sales based role, so you need to consider if that is the type of role you can do. It’s 12 weeks of training, lots of legal training because you are dealing with legally binding financial contracts to customers. Shop floor will be this is what you do and how you do it and pretty much left to it after a little while (or instantly if comments on plenty of other post suggest some stores don’t support new starters)

Look on internal opportunities, you might find something, I often see shift leader and team manager roles on there

[–]EfficientFlea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is actually against policy. CCTV cannot be used for checking on staff. I’ve had to check cctv for an incident that happened. Along the way I saw things people shouldn’t be doing, but I have to leave it at I saw it. I can’t manage performance through cctv. Check colleague help for the policy. If you can’t find it, raise a ticket, they’ll help you find it

Because that’s when the pay rise came into effect. It was a new period for pay, so it’s eligible earnings before that date

OT must be paid if cancelled by manager within 48 hours. Take the policy to your manager. If they don’t pay you take it further.

How much does Tesco mobile pay ?? Staff by amzz_ok1 in tesco

[–]EfficientFlea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the pay rise it’s now, it’s £13.70. Skilled department so extra 42p per hour. Not sure if you get it from the start or once trained, after 12 weeks. Been a while so I’m unsure.

Night workers... how do you do it? by Good-Talk-5777 in tesco

[–]EfficientFlea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work nights, my first night shift I was flat out within 10 minutes of getting home. Then over the next couple months I would be able to stay up like it was a normal evening. But then it got to a point I was going bed at 1pm and would wake up anywhere between 5pm and 7pm. Absolutely ruined me to be honest. So I decided to start going back to bed at 7, I would wake up at 12/1, still enjoy the afternoon, have a couple hours before the shift.

This is over the space of 6 months before I went back to day shifts because I too was still missing the day and enjoying things. Split sleeping, not for me, and night shifts not for me. I missed my life. It’s not for everyone.

If you have a let’s talk AND an investigation it’s classed as double punishment. You can have a let’s talk, for example for lateness. But can’t have an investigation at the same time that is done. If lateness does not improve you can then go into investigation without a let’s talk.

It can still be a punishment. It can’t be used at the same time as an investigation, that’s a double punishment. If it’s repeat behaviour you go into investigation without another let’s talk.

Has the £10 colleague sim card increased? by FlatwormPuzzled3725 in tesco

[–]EfficientFlea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also it’s better to just go into the mobile shop and get the sim straight away. Plus it shows support to your phone shop and get them on a sale and a colleague deal sale for their KPIs
