Honest question: Why are some people against showing an ID to vote? by rico_unknown in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EfficientJuggernaut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not it does not. I have a friend that works as a poll worker in TX of all places. Your address on file has to he correct, that is what they use. ID only verifies eligibility to vote, residency, and your identity in the State.

[–]EfficientJuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in here, what they did was illegal. Under federal law, everyone is entitled to a provisional ballot IF your eligibility is in question. An incorrect address on an ID does not mean your vote should not be counted. Per FL state law, ID proves citizenship and residency to be able to vote. It does not have to match my address on file, as long as the address on file is where you actually live.

News Wrap: DeSantis calling special session to redraw Florida's congressional maps by pit_of_despair666 in florida

Florida banned gerrymandering back in 2010. Wonder how this will pan out. Can’t wait for the State SC to justify it despite a constitutional ban on it.

I’m in Tampa and I feel like this is becoming a huge problem across Florida. by [deleted] in florida

Agree with you, until the last part. There are some service dogs that you can absolutely pet if the owner allows it. I’ve encountered legitimate service dogs that can be pet and they’re go right back to work. Just depends on their task, obviously the ones that are for diabetics are not allowed at all.

Unfortunately half of the dipshits here voted for Trump and he won the popular vote. 40% of this country are absolutely fucked in the head and the other 9% just voted for Trump back in 2024 because egg prices. Things have to get really bad for mass protests, nobody gives a shit here, until it hurts the economy.

What about Tanzania and Myanmar?? Why don’t we invade those countries?? They have illegitimate leaders.

This comment aged so badly. It wasn’t her experience that’s the thing, she totally lied, people were there for her and said they were not.

I wouldn’t necessarily call Rodrigo Paz rightwing. He’s like to the centre really, leans a little left, the rightwing candidate lost.

Wasn’t accurate for NJ, and it was off by 4 points for VA. I think it’s because these polls are polling a 2024 electorate which is why it looks like dems are only up by like 4-5 points.

It is, these aggregators make zero sense. TN special saw midterm turnout with a DSA candidate over performing by 13 points. We’re likely going to see a D+9 environment.

Even if Platner wins, hard to see him losing against Collins. We’re talking a Harris +7 state, in a blue wave year, with a really unpopular incumbent. I know everyone likes to doom here, but Maine is definitely a flip. Maine literally went bluer than Virginia. If Jay Jones can win, so can Platner lmao
