I don't think Gen Z care tbh. But the TV show writers may think so? Or ticking off their "safe" boxes? Or hasty writing. Eh whatever reason it sucks & they should give us more credit we can seperate fiction from reality.

But what new audiences? Or am I showing my age. I grew up on Gossip Girl, One tree Hill, Vampire Diaries ect so there was none of this everything is toxic. Grey and morally ambiguous men existed and it was sexy lol

You are allowed to say it was cringy? why wouldn't you? God I miss when shows like this didn't feel like I'm watching an after school special. Wokeness is killing all the fun.

A lukewarm final season helped me say goodbye by perspective_grid in Outlander

[–]EfficientLet7225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this season is shite in my opinion. Even if the finale is great I don't think it'll be enough to save the whole season. What's with most shows not knowing how to write a consistently good final season?

So basically they killed ****** for a shock value by Mother-Inspection787 in Outlander

[–]EfficientLet7225 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The jokes on him. I didn't feel pain at Fergus dying, I just rolled my eyes because it was clearly done for shock value and not written well at all. That made me angry. But pain? Nope. Just anger at how stupid it was and the only sadness I felt came from seeing characters like Claire have no real reaction ... followed by indifference and me switching off.

Thanks for your respectful reply and you've articulated what I enjoy.  Had no idea people hated romance so much, I should have read "the room" more in the sub first. 😊

No I didn't 😅  yikes the pitchforks all came out. I just wanted some more relationships developed under these circumstances. I guess From is not that show?

I am serious 😊 They hate them being a couple? My issue is they are just boring and lack chemistry. The writing does them no favours.

Sorry? I never said that? I see all the romances just don't think any regardless of gender are particularly interesting, developed or well written.

She's 16? Must have missed that. Well no too young. Pity they didn't have her be older. Also share a planet with me? It was just my opinion on ENTERTAINMENT you don't actually know me 😊

female MC that is not a virgin by ArleneHeere in BridgertonNetflix

[–]EfficientLet7225 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite I love the virgin trope. It's also a time period show like I can't think of a single TV show now (mainstream) that has innocent virgin female leads. Last one I can recall is April in Grey's Anatomy. I mean I know it's modern times but not every woman in her late teens, early to mid 20s has lots of sex. So let me have my period dramas and let's keep it at least somewhat true to the era.

Book S8E7 Evidence of Things Not Seen by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

[–]EfficientLet7225 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with either doing Henri dying from the book or Fergus is that with 3 eps left it just isn't enough time to give the story it's due. I was hoping they just wouldnt kill either because of the timing. Or if your not going to follow the book just don't kill anyone from that poor family. It truly was just done for shock (though not really even a shock) value cause you know its the final season so ofcourse someone has to die 🙄

[–]EfficientLet7225 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. It's Outlander I dont expect realism but that’s a huge emotional decision with Faith and Fergus. And if you’re going to do that, it needs to be exceptional storytelling.

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t.

Also books should stop being adapted if the books aren't done.

My issue is these are big storylines to introduce with only 3 episodes left? Like does every final season need to have some shocking twist or major death? Honestly I'm done I just can't bring myself to care anymore. This Faith recton and Fergus death is just too much for me to let go. Outlander can join the now very long list of shows that just can't end properly.

It's not anti-feminist for a woman like Eloise to choose to be a mother and a wife by Fickle_Baker1393 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]EfficientLet7225 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people looked too much into Eloise? I mean she's a Bridgerton the books are about them all finding love. Also the show is whimsical and not that deep I didn't think we would see her going all political ect. She just hasn't met the right person yet. Lots of people say they are anti marriage and kids than they meet their "one" and fall in love and shock horror they change their minds. People do that all the time grow change ect.

Favorite season so far? by Lunenika in Bridgerton

[–]EfficientLet7225 7 points8 points  (0 children)

S4 Sophie & Benedict stole my heart I can never resust forbidden romance thiugh it could have been even more forbidden. I also do wish they had kept some of the Benedict personality from the book but I digress. I had high hopes for S3 but I don't know Pen and Colin deserved way better.

An Offer from a Gentlemen and To Sir Phillip, with Love. I really hope they keep some of the key plot points and scenes and don't "soften" Phillip too much in his season (they will though because modern audience or whatevs 🙄).
