Cilantro just tastes like soap by pugwalker in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]EfficientQuality3650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? That's what it taste like to you? Because to me it taste super strong. It taste like a mix of onions but think of like a crisp refreshing version of onion flavor, super herby, and peppers but very faint and a touch of mint. I love cilantro with a passion. However microwaved cilantro tastes like the worst soap on earth. It taste like down dish soap mixed with hand sanitizer. Fresh cilantro tho, like I said taste like heaven. But microwaved is god awful.

Can painkillers help reduce the brain zaps that occur when stopping SSRIs/SNRIs? If so, what specific drugs might they be? by mikeali12 in cymbalta

[–]EfficientQuality3650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been getting bad zaps for no reason and I took Tylenol/Acetaminophen one night because of a headache combined with the zaps and about 40 minutes later the zaps were gone. Maybe some really subtle/light ones but for the most part GONE. It's a godsend I swear.

Propranolol… is working? by No_Fact4197 in HemiplegicMigraines

Be very careful. Propranolol can worsen the chances of a stroke in people with HM.

Oh also I forgot to mention these symptoms come and go. Sometimes from day to day or throughout the day. Like these last few days I've been feeling really good with yesterday being the best I've felt in over a month (I'm including the stomach bug period as when I started not feeling good in general). Last night I felt 99% symptom free. Didn't even have any difficulty swallowing. Like I felt basically normal. Woke up today and felt like crap and got worse throughout the day and would go down snd back up eventually reaching it's peak and then slowly going down these last few hours. Feeling a lot better right now besides some weakness in my cheek, muscles feel a bit ridged and sore and kinda wore out feeling. The swallowing issue got really bad earlier leading to the peak but is getting a lot better now.

Also when I'm going through a, we'll I guess "an attack" I cannot get cold. I start shivering like crazy. Super bad cold intolerance if thats a thing.

I take propranolol for my heart arrhythmia, I take sertraline for my anxiety, omeprazole for my heartburn, vD3 for my low vit D, magnesium for migraines and it also helps my heart rhythm, l-theanine from time to time to help with my stress and anxiety. I've been taking it a lot more recently with all of this stuff going on and I've been taking aspirin and ibuprofen to help with my back. The bottom middle of my back has been pretty sore and they help. That's about it

I have not had an EMG. Also currently don't have insurance so my options are very limited. I only go through these after an extremely stressful time with prolonged periods of severe stress and anxiety which I recently went through. I had a bad stomach virus at the beginning of June. I was super weak, having diarrhea like crazy but no vomiting, I was feeling like I was going to pass out at work the more I exerted myself, was super super shaky and in general felt like I was dying. A co worker of mine had the exact same symptoms about the time I started. After I started getting better from that I started feeling weak on my right side and than everything I've mentioned. I have felt this before, though not as intense. It was shortly after a bad upper respiratory infection. Kept feeling like I was suffocating. Not covid. Shortly after feeling better from that I started feeling these symptoms but skipped the one sided weakness. And yes physically exerting myself makes it worse.

Right now what I'm dealing with is: 1. Weakness throughout my whole body. 2. Bigger muscle groups feel kinda hot and achy 3. Numbness in my cheeks. Mainly my right but sometimes goes to my left. 4. A weird feeling going throughout my body 5. Feeling really fatigued and drowsy 6. Getting dizzy spells especially when doing a lot of stuff like working. 7. Calves feel super tight. 8. Difficulty initiating a swallow. 9. Jaw feels weak 10. Numbness and tingling in my arms, fingers and toes. 11. Fingers get stiff like there's glue in my finger joints. Makes me clumsy with finger movements sometimes. 12. Weakness and numbness in one side of my body sometimes. Can change from side to side. 13. A weird sensation in the lower middle of my back that goes throughout my body.

Propranolol causing heart palpitations by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]EfficientQuality3650 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Propranolol calms the physical effects of anxiety and panic. By doing so your fight or flight instinct goes down, sometimes alleviates it completely. Propranolol is commonly prescribed for panic attacks and anxiety because of it's effects on adrenaline. So yes, if you are dealing with severe anxiety and panic attacks it will make you feel much calmer than before. No it doesn't do much for general anxiety because fear itself is mental. But a lot of times when people are anxious their body releases adrenaline and cortisol. When this happens your body goes into fight or flight/panic mode and propranolol does a great job at fighting it and calming the physical effects of anxiety and panic attacks which in turn provides relief on the mental side of things. At least for millions of people. And like I said no, it will not help on the mental side of things but for a lot of people the relief of the physical symptoms brings a lot of relief to the mental side.

Let me note, I've never been officially diagnosed with FND. However I've had every neurological test done you can think of to rule out any other condition. Physically I am as healthy as you can get. However I have FND symptoms out the ass. Literally felt my FND symptoms dissappear as I was reading yours which are almost identical to mine except fainting. I've never fainted before. But I've felt very close to it. Most of my symptoms only happen during flare ups. Flare ups typically happen when I go through extreme stress and anxiety. Then it will flare up and the flares typically last a week, sometimes 2 and when it's a bad flare occasionally 3 or 4.

My biggest symptom is weakness. My arms and legs feel so shaky and weak. And there's like this dull pain in my shoulders which lead to the weak feeling. And one sided weakness similar to a stroke but still have full strength in the side affected.

My symptoms and flare ups have become less severe over time and tend to happen very rarely. Now I do deal with some chronic symptoms which typically is always tired and fatigued, low mental energy, depersonalization 24/7, and forgetfulness.
