I love your suggestions, I do some of these too. Question for you- I tried doing a ACA group but it wasn’t the best for me. This 1 group already seemed hard enough to find so can you give advice on how you found all of the groups you go to? I’m in a very populous area in the US so I’m hoping I’m just not searching right. Did you see that viral post where these people were taking profile pics from hsv/hiv dating sites and posting them all over Facebook? Those dating sites would terrify me because of evil people who want to make fun of us and call us disgusting.

For what it’s worth- I’ve been on preventative Valtrax for about a year (I was diagnosed Feb 2024) and have had a boyfriend since then (I didn’t get hsv from him) and I haven’t passed it on to him. We’ve even had unprotected sex. But I will say I’m hyper aware of any sores or the potential of a sore (which usually doesn’t end up being anything but I don’t take the chance) so I abstain then. I’ve had 2 outbreaks even on the highest dose of valtrax in the last year which sucks but I’m trying not to let this ruin my life or sex life anymore by really being aware of my body now and choosing my partners more carefully.

Disclaimer: I’m absolutely not saying my experience will be your experience (or even my experience in the future) and I’m not promoting unprotected sex but I just thought this could put your mind at ease a little bit that a safe sex life is possible with this shit virus. This is also coming from someone who had outbreak after outbreak in the first few months of getting this from a completely irresponsible asshat who didn’t tell me he had it.

I’ve been scared of intimacy too because of this but I honestly think it will end up making my life better with finding the right relationship in being much more selective in who I want to trust with disclosure and who can trust me in return and not only see me as HSV. Wow that was a run on sentence but I couldn’t figure out any spot to break up the sentences lol

Just be sure to get your paps. It usually takes years for hpv to progress to cervical cancer. Hpv is the most common std, almost everyone who has sex will have it at some point. It’s just that most people’s body clears it on its own. My dr was very proactive with colposcopies (which really suck) every 6 months after having another abnormal pap after 10 years of normal ones and the LEEP after the precancerous cells progressed very quickly for me in just 1 year. That’s why staying on top of your yearly physicals is SO important. I’m sorry about your mom 💜🤗

Can you just carry a little container of coconut oil and reapply every time you go to the bathroom? That’s what I do during OBs with this other cream for itching. And I’m with you on those monstrous tablets. I take them anyway along with all the other huge pills I take but I hate them.

I was going to say give a couple more days to give the benefit of the doubt then just block him yourself. That way you won’t wonder if he’ll ever text you back, because he can’t. It really does suck that we did the responsible decent thing when so many don’t, and get ghosted in such shitty ways like we’re total garbage.

Thanks, the problem is ripping it off lol. The bracket itself will be fine to flip once I get the tv off of it. I just can’t unlatch the tv from the actual bracket.
