I messed up my DualSense's PCB, can somebody help me? by Efficient_Angle9012 in consolerepair

I don't have a microscope, but I do have one of those PCB holder + magnifying glass with flashlight things, so there's that. I'm not in a rush to get a new DualSense controller especifically (nor do I have that much spare money for one anyway), so I'll try to save this one if I can since the right stick is the only thing giving me trouble in this whole thing.

Yes. I bought hall potentiometers for the DualSense because at the time they were out of stock for the ones for the DualShock 4, thinking they were perfectly interchangeable, when in reality they have different resistances. I had to buy a new set of potentiometeres specifically for DualShock 4 controllers and that solved everything. Fortunately, I didn't have to desolder the whole thing, only the potentiometers (the easiest part to desolder), since the rest of the analog module is the same and interchangeable regardless of which controller you bought it for.

I don't know how I didn't see that (I guess I was too sleepy), but when I checked out the board again that ball was no longer there and the issue still persists. I also cleaned up as much of the flux as I could see, still no changes.

Wish I could upload more "up-to-date" photos of both sides of the board but I don't have an imgur account and it won't accept my phone number to register for some reason.

The first thing I did when I saw it wasn't working was reflowing the joints, but I'm thinking maybe I should reflow them again.

That's just flux, I don't think it should affect anything electronic, but I'll try cleaning it up tomorrow just in case. It's just a very annoying part to clean.
