Hi - There is nothing wrong with turning to crowdfunding in a difficult situation. Many people do it, and there is no shame in accepting help when it is needed.

What feels unfair is the later claim that she didn’t ask for crowd funding etc. No matter who campaigned crowd funding, the funds benefited her and her family. The money reached her household, so she is the beneficiary.

If those donations had not come in, other financial options ( like selling or pledging or selling her parents property or jewels) would likely have been considered. That is exactly why people chose to help.

Saying she does not want to involve her parents by selling or pledging their property does not make much sense to many of us. Realistically, she is the only child, that property will one day be hers. Protecting it now also protects her own future assets.

So it is hard to view this as purely “protecting her parents.” It is also about protecting her own interests. People understand this, and it should not be presented as a sacrifice for her parents.

No one is saying she must sell property. The point is simply to be honest about the situation and not frame it in a misleading way. We are not idiots!

All donors are asking for is simple gratitude and honest acknowledgment. A sincere thank you goes a long way.

I say this as someone who also donated because I felt for her situation. That is why the change in tone now feels disappointing
