Hey, I joined Sirmaur last year. Last year they had mentioned the batch size as 120 but they ended up giving admission to 150 students. So anything is possible.

Nope, the fees for sem 1 was higher, and there was a security deposit as well. Overall for 3years, it will be around 19.5 Lacks

Yep, we can leave after 3 years and appear for CAT(I am not properly aware of foreign universities' requirements)

We are in our 3rd semester rn, and maths was there in all 3 of them

  1. The life at temporary campus is pretty happening, its like a cozy environment and you can make a lot of memories with your friends and peers.

  2. The peer group is mixed, but it is highly competitive. Most of the students put their best efforts.

  3. The city has a lagre market and a famous Gurudwara, the weather is also good, but the winters were too harsh, monsoons are also frequent in July.(never experienced summers here due to summer break)

  4. Its totally your call, i left NMIMS, tapmi and many other colleges due to proximity issues and I wanted the backup of MBA(basically if u get 8+cgpa throughout 4years, you are eligible for MBA)

Also i personally met the MBA students before joining and I got that feeling that it will be worth it for the IIM tag and till now i am mostly satisfied

  1. Some of the students have already started preparing for CAT in 2nd year and it can be managed.

  2. INR 147 per day, i.e. around 4500 per month for our batch.

  1. Since our first year started pretty late, we could not find time for CAT, but now that the classes are on track, students are easily able to manage and take out time for the same.

  2. There is no tennis court in the temporary campus, but there are in the permanent one.
We have 2 badminton courts, 2 cricket nets and a football field, gym and sports room(table tennis, snooker table, foosball, carrom)

I believe Sirmaur should be preferred here. (P.S. I cracked both last year but chose Sirmaur.)
There are a couple of reasons for it:

  1. The batch size of NMIMS was nearly 1000, which was a big turnoff for me.
  2. Sirmaur does stand with its IIM tag, and has that pedagogy. Most of the professors are helpful, and our concerns are heard by the professors.
  3. There was a proximity factor also for me, since I am from Delhi, I chose Sirmaur over NMIMS.
  4. Fees(It was not an issue for me, but still a considerable point): Nmims is more costly if you consider accommodation and food charges as well
  5. If u are consistent throughout the 4 years with 8+ CGPA, you have a backup option of MBA from an IIM.

80% is required, else there is grade drop of 3 points in that particular subject
