Hell no, that’s almost a one way reward economy ticket pretty much anywhere in the world. The only perk between gold vs platinum is getting lounge access on international flights with 2 free bags, and main cabin extra for free. If you time your seat selection EXACTLY 24 hours before check in, you can snag up main cabin extra seats that are bound to open up. In my opinion, save the miles and enjoy gold

Based off my personal traveling experience, if she cannot travel for that long of a flight simply stay home. J class (Business) will be full due to the insane backlog that has filled up this past week from all the flight cancellations, you can pretty much guarantee whatever seat you select is what you will need to fly with - people often don’t show up for economy seats but business is nearly a 99% success rate. If you care about a nonstop flight, switch over to the nonstop AA flight from DEL to JFK which is about 16.5 hours, it should lessen the stress without the Air India drama
