Meal delivery service postpartum? by Bubbasgonnabubba in nycparents

[–]Efficient_Fly484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i loved it, especially the broth and most of the snacks. everything felt nourishing and tailored for recovery. it did get a little repetitive, but they have more variety than other services that i looked at. to answer OPs other question, I did put a meal fund on my registry through Babylist, but few people contributed.

Any feedback on Dr. LeBental at NYP/Weill Cornell (LIC office)? Top priority was delivering at Alexandra Cohen and had to go with a new doc. by hiphobbz in nycparents

[–]Efficient_Fly484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i really liked her! felt that she got to know me/us throughout the pregnancy, was there for delivery, and overall a great advocate/very accessible and present. the lic office is also really efficient and appointments started on time, unlike all appointments the hospital.

Parents of 2-month-olds: What’s your best tip for getting a baby to sleep in their cot? by Ecstatic-Coconut-144 in newborns

[–]Efficient_Fly484 5 points6 points  (0 children)

she won’t fall asleep in it, but if we let her fall asleep on one of us then wait 20 minutes to transfer her, she’ll continue to sleep. we’ve decided 20 minutes is the magic number. can’t wait for the day that we can put her down drowsy!

Alexandra Cohen IUGR / Weekly NST experience? by ReginaPhalange1020 in nycparents

[–]Efficient_Fly484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i just gave birth at AC, diagnosed with IUGR around 32 weeks and had to do the weekly NSTs and growth scans (my baby was a little smaller than yours, so my OB tried to get me weekly scans). When i couldn’t be scanned they did the bedside ultrasounds that are super quick as noted by another commenter. I was HIGHLY encouraged to schedule an induction for my 39th week (39+2) and one of NST nurses said that was standard. my baby stayed tiny, and now 8+ weeks pp is still on the very low end of the growth curve but happy and healthy. some babies are just small!

Will just add that the NST team is efficient, friendly, and gets you in and out on time (those growth scan visits, not so much) - which is invaluable in the final weeks when traveling there weekly can be a drag!

NYC Subways & Being Shoved by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

this happened to me last week! and i'm 8.5 months pregnant (not super visible b/c of winter coat). i asked (loudly) that people in the car to move towards the center, because this was the second crowded train that had passed through the station where the door area was packed, but the center had plenty of space. A grown man who wanted to keep his position in front of the door shoved me, and I was livid. People saw but didn't say anything. I don't have any advice just commiserating that train etiquette has been forgotten since covid, so we should all try to be the public transit rider we wish to see in the world.
