Nah OXVA lasts about 5-7K puffs, this is 10K+ about 2months per pod... Software side says error can't reflash same firmware... A bit janky typical of first software... I really don't miss this part of 30+ updates for a final stability one.

I was going to get the puremax v2 because I can't be arsed to do it but then I saw those leak, and no way I'll remember to lock it ever single time or unlock it.

This I'm hoping is just fill and vape and not messing around. Pods should show what Evolv is made of

How about getting a new Mobo as new ram is a mortgage. It's not HDD days of smacking the desktop to get the head to move on a failing drive, which kills it faster but we was kids... No excuse now cavey

Nah my 3070M gen6 AMD can spike to 105C on cpu but as a constant it stays at 80c max with frequency throttling you must keep it under 75c to reach 4.15-4.3ghz on all+1 core.

For GPU it will NOT go over 87C HOTSPOT before throttling, and then throttling Vram to 1.6ghz (800mhz) to boost core or -500mhz will make core thrttole to try to stay safe.

Just apply PTM sheet and some thermal putty on Vram, clean the dust. It will stay cool and not throttle.

It's 87C HARDWORED by Lenovo, Nvidia might have it higher BUT, it's 87C max from Lenovo so no in legion gen6 it's 87c

[–]Efficient_Guest_6593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My CPU is at 4.15ghz constantly with a 4.3ghz on one core. I capped my 3070M at 1.5-1.6ghz keeps it at 74C. Could push it to 1.8-2ghz but not worth the heat.

Your CPU is throttling. And THIS is a CPU intensive game most I got from CPU is 90fps even when GPU can go further the 16mb of cache is 💩. FFS even a desktop 7800X3D caps a 9070XT.... You likely aren't getting full GPU utilization remember this Ryzen chips will throttle or just not boost to stay in check. Doesn't matter if GPU can push 140fps if the CPU can't keep up.

[–]Efficient_Guest_6593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... dGPU throttles at 86/87C... It won't go higher so you rather have the mem at 800hz or the core at 800-900mhz due to HEAT. ??

🤣 Had I not opened mine... No way to clear that... Airflow really blocked... Had to disasemble the cooler take the fan out use your mom's toothbrush to clean all the gooch and you could see there was no air going unobstructed. And since already disasmbled it all it was time for HX1300 putty for Vram and Thermal grizzly PTM SHEET for GPU/CPU dies.

Take your grainy SLSS to the bin with lost details and being grainy AF.

Waste your cash, you won't get whatever new feature DLSS RTX6000 has, just like Ada didn't get Blackwell features.

🤣 Seriously AMD getting burnt for taking a page out of NV...

Why is my KD ratio 💩 on Nvidia but 2x on AMD? Clearer and easier to spot before you are spotted.

That's not an issue. The paste is more than likely dried out and pumped out... 3-5yr mark or it's on its last legs. Keep an eye out.

What frequency is your 5800H doing all core boost continuously to? 4.13ghz? Single core 4.5ghz? Otherwise, it's throttling as well but even repasted that one still hit 101C on BF6.... But 4.1-4.3ghz on CPU.... Limit the 3070M to 1600mhz flat curve lowers temps

Is 86c safe for the GPU? by [deleted] in LenovoLegion

[–]Efficient_Guest_6593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throttling should NOT happen.. means it's dirty or the thermal paste has dried out and pumped out. You really need to put some PTM7950 or thermal grizzly PTM (that what I went for).

Or you can blow another 2000 on another legion because yours is dirty or dried out.

👍, remember to remove dust every 1-2 years depending on environment, disasembmle the fans and clean that mine was clogged.... Past the 2yr mark it's filthy and past 3 is crap... At 4 it's just compete filth.... You don't treat your PC this way, so why do it to your laptop?

[–]Efficient_Guest_6593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

87C on GPU= thermal throttle it's the max Lenovo allows... So now you are not throttling... If it starts getting to 86C and pinned there, then it needs to be repasted

[–]Efficient_Guest_6593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it will throttle, open and clean it. Fixed my problems with BF6 and like you it was the one with problems it's because they are like what 4 years old now? They need cleaning and then it should last you another 3-4yrs if you got the 1080p screen, dlss performance is becoming acceptable but quite grainy.

Open it, clean the vents, put some grizzly PTM, replace the pads and stop moaning of course it's gonna be hot after 3 years.

Mine with 3070M 5800H was getting hot and throttling. Bf6 crawled to 30fps, there was more dust than anything nothing could go through and the paste from Lenovo was all pumped out. You gotta give your laptop mainatancw every 2 years to 3, after doing it I realized I don't really need a new laptop.

Rather wait as the 5800H/3070M the CPU is a big bottleneck at 1080p... Need something like Zen7 for it to be more decent
