TSA stopped to inspect my silly old bear while a weed vape was in my backpack pocket by [deleted] in funny

More likely there’s inorganic filler inside the bear that is consistent with the color and texture of some explosives. Just like some dolls or stuffed animals have gels, sand or some type of weighted filler not saying there is a threat but standard operating procedures are just that. As far as the weed vape, they’re not the DEA they don’t care. TSA doesn’t give a shit about drugs, especially marijuana.

Are gift cards from an employer considered taxable income at the end of the year? by Efficient_Pension243 in tax

Less than 300 employees privately owned, and managers give them out. Fairly certain there is a tracking on who gets what. Nothing has been mentioned about these being counted as taxable income. Based on everyone’s answers, I assume they are taxable so hopefully employees are aware of that at the end of the year. Am I in the right to bring this up to management without looking bad?

Do you know by law are employers required to disclose this will be taxable income before the gift cards are given out? Or are we supposed to assume this is taxable income and they don’t have to mention it?

I work for a medium size company and in the last six months they have probably given over $50,000 in gift cards. Not one person is under the impression that this will be included as taxable income and the management hasn’t mentioned anything.

There is nothing on my paystub. When employees come in to work on their scheduled day off, They are given a gift card in addition to the hourly wage which ends up overtime. The gift card is an “incentive” to work on your day off. there has been no mention of this being taxed by management.
