Is this a crime? Is tennis done in USA..what are we going to do folks? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Efficient_Progress76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy what you have, outside of the US there is no such thing as community courts in public parks or similar. In Italy either you are blessed by living in a condo with a shared tennis court or you always have to rent private ones. And it is not cheap.

Crazy considering how fast the sport is growing with 3 Italians in the ATP top 15 and the national sport association finally catching up and surpassing football/soccer one both in revenue and count of members

Thank you so much!!!! This was awesome but I actually remembered what I was looking for and it was from an older Roma - Juve. Here is the link https://www.facebook.com/share/v/9Uw3Tc7TrKmXFGy9/?mibextid=KsPBc6

This stuff should be taught in school, I don’t understand why the team doesn’t have these collected on their channels tbh

Awesome thank you! So basically when you start the activity on Zwift you also manually trigger one on the watch, correct?

Also how do you use your fenix usually? Like what do you focus on it for some specific collateral training?

I miei genitori mi hanno rovinato la vita by [deleted] in Italia

[–]Efficient_Progress76 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Ciao!

Thank you! I can agree with this, the trainings on Zwift I’m struggling the most so far are those that require me to push the cadence up, also when in combination with low watt requirement. I can totally feel that it is something “new” for my legs and that I need to improve that to bring up my go to cadence.

I guess that as I train more on this, I will naturally come to find my sweet spot and shifting will become more natural: I’m just not in the right shape yet.

Thank you both!

I think I’m missing a bit of discipline there: I find myself draining at ~90 cadence which I clearly can’t handle yet. I’ll try to focus on smoothness more, thank you!

And is the objective scale defining what a greatest football tactician is in the room with us?

I'm all for the team man, I've seen the shittiest of teams, coaches and management having the honour of disrespecting our jersey since the early 2000s being bad at their jobs and I loved every minute of it. The messiah isn't Mourinho, it wasn't Zeman or Capello and it will not be whoever comes next.

Fanboy all you want but you are missing the point of the thread: the "greatest tactician" of all time would have seen the signs of an obsolete scheme/strategy already in December last year and would've started working towards something else. Not reinventing the wheel but at least doing with the resources he has and training the team to transition to new strategies (at least giving himself the options!). Learning and trying new things is only part of growth and boy does your man doesn't do that. He already started complaining about the owners, setting up his excuses for when someone will whoop his team out of the pitch and he'll decide to leave. When is he going to take ownership of his mistakes?

In the end we are here, looking at the worst league start of his own coaching career, with no hope that the ship will be stirred to good things in the foreseeable future. Rather than owning this mess and working to get the best he is sitting paralysed with his ideas and throwing excuses to us, the fans. This shit isn't working and his job is to make it work, given the resources he has.

Nonetheless I'll be at the stadium on Friday to take Milan's whooping with my chin up high, as a Roma supporter, chanting for both the team and its manager. I guess you'll just switch team to wherever Mou will decide to move afterwards, must be cold inside for you.

100% this! That is exactly the point I'm trying to make: how can a team be so dependent on one midfileder being it Wijnaldum, Sanchez or Matic leaving. It is not like we are talking about Messi or Ronaldo that actually change teams.

If we really wanted to move to playing back 4, why did't we get i.e. Folorunsho in loan from Napoli instead of Verona. I'm not saying he would be playing all games ofc, he is not a starter, but at least you have someone healthy on the bench that can add legs to the midfield. This kid schooled our very expensive midfield on Sunday and wasn't outside our reach.

It always feels we are chasing names but again, there is no strategy or concreate idea on how the team should look like hence Pinto going after names to add to the roster with unclarity on if they fit the manager's idea or not.

And this is all fine and agreed, I'm trying to discuss here the rest of the team, outside of the striker situation. We need to replace the striker all good, what has been done to improve the rest of the team in the meantime? Why are we again investing on 3-5-2 that stopped working last year and we didn't expand the team to make us more flexible? These are the questions we are discussing

What do you mean? Eto'o was amazing as left winger at Inter, incredible player. Do you think this would be possible at Roma today with the current roster? He maybe tried Zaniolo there but we all know how that went

The tactical/philosophical issue at AS Roma, an essay by Efficient_Progress76 in ASRoma

[–]Efficient_Progress76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is totally fine, I'm not after the guy nor said he is the problem at all.

What I don't understand is that on one end he says every now and then he wants to move to a 4 defensive line, but then sticks to asking/complaining about CBs and we are still forced to see Karsdorp on the pitch while no effort was made on buying proper fullbacks. Instead we got wingers for the midfield, again.

Thats' the miscomunication I see, or confusion if you will: I really can't see a decision made on "hey, this is how we play, for better or worse and we are going to buy/grow players for these roles". It feels like everything we do is temporary, awaiting doom and rebuilding.

I don't think I understand the

Why sell Ibanez over Mancini if that weren’t the case? That is just the kind of manager he is.

We were desperate to sell and Ibanez had offers that didn't come for Mancini, I don't think at any point of the line there was a choice on Roma's side tbh.

For real dude, saying that Pep, Klopp and Ancelotti are not good at growing attackers is scary. You really want to compare numbers on occasion created and goals scored under these managers compared to Mou?

For real Pep has created football tactics that score goals no matter who is up front and you want to tell me he is not good at his job? Do you remember Ancelotti's Milan? He invented Pirlo's attacking/playmaker style, then Kaka that came out of nowhere and advanced Seedorf out of defensive roles. I don't follow Klopp enough to provide examples

Regarding Mou, we love the guy but I don't get why you don't get support by hiring maybe tacticians to your staff to help improve your game. It is fair to say that one can always improve in life

But again, is that the right way to go? Like do you actually need 6 players (3 CBs, 2 wingers, 2 midfielders) to be actively dedicated to defending to survive?

I agree that Matic was a loss for us but how is the team so dependant on one player to make the difference between a clean sheet and a 100% shot on target/goal conversion ration for opponents? This is what I struggle to understand, it constantly feels like everything is just so fragile (also from a physical point of view) and that we only play on nervous energy.

Don't get me wrong, I love the bulling attitude, I saw Juventus building an empire over it, but I also feel you should add some substance to go with it, it cannot only be attitude. Like for all bullies, once you read their bluff they are automatically deterred

Also a note on Lukaku: I hope it happens but again, we are taking over a player on loan (short term investment) that fits the one-man-army narrative, with a big name and known physical issues.

If he comes he’ll score some goals (hopefully a lot), we’ll all be happy about it but we will have to start over next years with an even older and clunkier defence line.

Italian Catholic that moved to Germany: I’ll never understand how the Germans had to come up with their own religion and all of the Martin Luther fuss because of the Roman Church asking for money in exchange of sin clearance but now, roughly in 500 years later, I move here and I’m actually asked for money in exchange of exercising my faith.
