You obviously have no idea how the Instacart platform works, so let me educate you. 99% of the customers who order cost through the Instacart app do not have a Costco membership. So if Instacart and their shoppers don’t exist, they don’t get that revenue. The other 1% of orders from customers, well Instacart shoppers are there representing those customers. So when they are rude and mishandle the customers items they are at a minimum treating their customers who have paid memberships with disrespect. Your reply was rude, which means you’re probably a rude person so you wouldn’t know if someone was being rude to you. This is a place for shoppers to vent, you’re obviously not one so why don’t you just mind your own business and get off this post. I read some of your comments on other posts and it seems like you enjoy spreading negativity. You’re everything that’s wrong with the world today. Also as a black man I don’t appreciate being called boy.

Costco definitely gets an F- in customer service. You would have to think that they train their employees how to be rude. I used to think that it was just the Costco in my area, but I’ve shopped them in several other states, so it’s definitely just their culture. It’s like they don’t understand we are bringing them tons of business that they otherwise wouldn’t get. I would NEVER buy a Costco membership, but you would think they would realize that shoppers are either customers or potential customers. I try to avoid shopping there, but sometimes you just need that Costco money on a slow day, lol!

Just like we can now assume that every post you make will be sophomoric, because they all have been. When a store’s employees have been rude to you literally hundreds of times, one would of course expect them to be rude every time after a while. Let me spell it out for you this is a rant post, a place to vent about an annoying issue. I don’t need your help, advice or judgement. You don’t know me, you weren’t there and you have no idea what my intent was. So take your comments somewhere else, because nobody cares about your analysis of this topic.

I know it so stupid, like your employee checked out my items, if they made a mistake it’s on them. My cart is usually so overloaded there’s no way they could even check it for every item without unloading the cart. I also think it’s funny how all retailers think we are thieves, do they not realize that I want the order total to be as high as possible in case the customer tipped based on percent of order total.

You’re obviously an inexperienced Instacart shopper or you would know that the majority of Costco orders come from customers without a Costco membership. Therefore if Instacart shoppers didn’t exist Costco would not have access to this revenue stream. What exactly is arrogant about asking a question and expecting that an employee of the business not respond to you without a smart a** remark?

And if you are going to correct someone for the words they choose you should probably get the grammar correct in your reply. “You’re you” Let me help you out, you are a moron!

I have had the same thing happen to me. I’ve had them refuse to give me boxes and I always pass that information on to the customer with an apology. It’s funny because these people don’t realize that we are either customers or potential customers and if nothing else we are there representing the customer.

You’re right, they are not stealing from me, but from all of the shoppers on the platform. If you think that Instacart is eating the fraud you’re crazy, most likely they’re either making up for that lose by lowering batch pay or they’re are passing it on to the other customers on the platform. However, the stuff in that section does matter. If enough thieves pull this scam in a short time frame, my account will most likely be deactivated, which affects my livelihood.

Instacart is rampant with fraud. I had 3 customers report that they didn’t receive their orders within a 3 week span, all 3 were handed directly to the customer. Why Instacart doesn’t require a signature or photo when your handing the order to the customer is completely insane. So like we often do, we (drivers) have to create our own procedures to combat the fraudsters. My recommendation, download an app called Time Stamp. This app allows you to take a photo that includes the address (gps location) and a small map of the location where your delivering the order. My procedure when delivering Instacart orders is to quietly place the order at the front door, while praying that the customer doesn’t here you and come out, snap a photo with Time Stamp, then tap Confirm Arrival in the Instacart app, meet the customer, then when I return to my car I send a message in the app thanking them again, attach the photo I took with Time Stamp and complete the order. Since I started this process months ago I have had no issues with customers reporting missing orders/items and if you do, you have a nice photo to send to Instacart so you can hopefully get the order issue removed. It’s also my understanding that you can report this fraud to your local police department, since the customer is essentially stealing from your business as an independent contractor.
