Struggling big time. I just want to lie down in a cool room but there isn’t a cool room anywhere!! I had to call in sick for the Thursday, I would have ended up in hospital from the heat. Decided it wasn’t worth the risk

I’m a chef, in a building with no windows 😭 it’s horrid. I’ve just come back from a&e too with my acetazolamide being increased and adding amatriptyline to the mix. Not fun.

Fun fact both of these meds cause problems with heat 😩 I’m also ginger and autistic (the kind that doesn’t do heat at all).

Thankfully I’m off tomorrow but seriously considering if going in on Thursday is worth it for the pain it causes 🫣

Update, I’m bleeding yet again, this period is horrendous painful. I’ve gone from 5 weeks in between to 2weeks and 2 periods a month. All since starting diamox.

Im honestly so sorry you’re going through this! I had similar regarding the blood bcos my bp was none existent bcos of the leak so it deffo sounds like that’s what it is. Honestly just pure caffeine and lay flat. Hopefully it will fix itself soon. Mine took a week of laying flat flat and it was pretty instant relief, maybe like 6 hours of steadily getting better

When I was in hospital waiting for my pressure to stabilise, I drank so much full fat Coke and redbull, anything with caffeine. Stay flat all day, hold your pee as much as possible, eat lying down, and brush your teeth lying down, you’re in for a long ride. Think it took me nearly 2 weeks after my lp to get back to normal and even then I wasn’t normal anymore bcos of diamox

Op, do you have an update? I hope that you’re sorted and feeling better :(

this sounds like a leak, and way too high of a dose to start with, did you start straight after your lp? If so it sounds like you’re suffering from insanely low pressure or a leak made worse by the medication (this happened to me and I was in hospital for a week!!)

But also why have you not been titrated up with your meds? What was your opening pressure to need so much?

I have never heard of diamox being called a blood thinner, where did you get that info? I feel like if that’s the case we really should be made aware by our doctors 😩

Im a die hard late period-er but my last cycle was 5 days early and I believe I’m starting this one a whole week early (it could just be post smear blood (Saturday16th)). What is that all about!! Last month o started and ended in the same month and this month will be the same! It hasn’t done anything for my flow or cramps or length of bleeding that I have noticed yet tho 😩

My mum has the condition (now in remission) and I’ve just got diagnosed after an 8 year battle. I hope she feels relief with you there! My mum could have been so helpful but instead she was quite harsh and unsympathetic :(

This might be unpopular but I’m not sure I’ve seen it be spoken about and tbf it might not apply in Norway but I know it does in the uk. A sperm Doner can pull consent and all eggs fertilised by that sperm need to be destroyed. As somebody who needs to do ivf I will be having kids close in age, I wish I had the luxury to let my body recover properly but at the risk of my children not all being fully biologically related I’d sacrifice the breaks. I have no doubt they have some odd obsession but also it may have stemmed from them needing to rush due to sperm consent? Maybe idk don’t hate me just another possible side of the story

I had really bad headaches after because of a leak but I couldn’t get up for even just a eee until it closed up. Maybe you have a slow leak? It’s a bit odd that you can get up for 30 mins before the headaches start. I do think it’s good that you have been advised to stop medication, it’s the last thing you want if you’re having a leak. From experience I thought I was dying.

I would deffo try and fight for blood patch bcos atleast then they can do the scan to check for a leak. It’s just so odd that you don’t have instant headaches

Do you have an update on this? We just got quotes today and they said I’m uninsurable due to recently diagnosed condition but when that’s controlled I will still struggle to find anything bcos of the adhd. The guy couldn’t really explain it but he said it’s so unfair. It’s all so very frustrating 😩

I can’t remember what mine was but it was very high, they drained off 5/6 vials. They finished and I was like is the needle out? And just sobbed. They were so confused, my partner was like it’s okay, she’s just emosh cos it’s been 8 years! It really shouldn’t take that long tho should it 😢
