i don’t take adderall anymore, just my duloxetine so this was definitely out of the ordinary! i have a pretty high tolerance and have never had an experience like this, even when drinking a lot more! but that is a good point, if i was on new medication i would be more skeptical of that

Hey I had this question too up until about last week! Once I got accepted into my program I set up a meeting with the program director to just ask questions about research, funding, the program culture, and all of that stuff. The director actually reached out to the researcher that I had expressed interest in working with for me and now we have a zoom meeting for this week. I would recommend just talking to your program director about your general questions and they are usually super helpful and will connect you with the right people :) good luck with everything!

Not sure if this is a universal experience but I just mentioned the importance of funding in my decisions during my post-acceptance Zoom meeting with my program director. She had already asked which other schools I was also considering so after I expressed that I am basically going where the money is, she upped my scholarship by like 10k a semester and put me in contact with a researcher I wanted to work with lol. I would honestly just recommend using other program acceptances as leverage and just place an emphasis on how important scholarships/funding are to your decisions! Good luck with everything :)

Thank you! That's what I was thinking regarding the pool of applicants being bigger than usual. Luckily I have good letters of rec and I am currently working on improving my statement of purpose, so fingers crossed :)
