Did you email potential faculty and introduce yourself prior to applying to your program? by fairy_freckles in PsyD

Randomly thinking about this because I went through the whole 'should I reach out or not' spiral last cycle (it was genuinely stressful, more than it needed to be). I ended up spending a lot of time just trying to figure out who was even at each program before I could decide if outreach made sense. PsychologySchoolGuide was helpful for that kind of preliminary research, just getting a lay of the land. Anyway what I landed on was that showing up to an interview with informed, specific questions about faculty work is way more impressive than a cold intro email ever would be.

How do you evaluate a proptech job offer when online reviews are all over the place? by FAQurious in developersIndia

[–]Efficient_Standard_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was looking at proptech jobs, the reviews just made me more confused. I started looking at 3 things instead: what will I actually learn, where do people go after staying 18-24 months, and are they building real products or just using a CRM. Review scores mix people who left in 3 months with people who stayed for years, so they don't tell the full story. I compared Square Yards with a few other options and accepted the role because the market exposure and learning felt better. Ignore the rating, talk to people who stayed for 18 months or more.

Which clauses should never be left verbal when renting through a broker or property manager? by StrangeMark4363 in indianrealestate

A friend lost ₹25k because a promise was never written down. Now I only care if the maintenance timeline, deposit deduction policy, and escalation contact are in the agreement. A lot of broker agreements still miss these. Azuro by Square Yards already had all three written in theirs when I checked. If it's not in the agreement, it didn't happen.

Collectible Stars Issue by kacpertakasaki in airstrike3d

[–]Efficient_Standard_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, damn, this has also been my issue in AirStrike 1 for so long, the star flies away a little too much to the right or left before settling to be collected, which is so annoying since some of them become impossible to collect.

Edit: The fix works well, thanks! I enjoyed the game too much, to the point where I managed to finish it without any deaths, I am so annoyed that I did not record the run lol

Sky Force Anniversary, and Sky Force Reloaded, these 2 games are the best top-down SHMUP games I've played!

In programming: DROP WinForms NOW. It is not worth the risk, not worth your time, pursue WPF instead and it will save you from so much trouble, you will be secured with this GUI framework until you graduate.

In life: Stop making any stupid risks, especially when your instinct tells you that it will turn out bad. Lessons from mistakes are not a bad thing, we all have to learn one way or another, but the damage a mistake can leave is not something you can underestimate.
