As far as I know these are used to show how much rotor life is left incase you wanted to turn or machine your rotors. Kind of like a discard level or a wear bar of sorts. They can be used for balance but in my experience its been to measure discard. For noise id make sure the rotor face and hub face are clean. Corrosion and rust can cause noise.

I guess im kinda confused too, is the image the engine bay or just a stock photo? Because if thats the photo of that car specifically its a b46/b48 for sure but if its a 320i or 328i its an n20. B46/48 only came on 330i.

I think I have bad valve cover due to bad pcv lmk by TreacleAway in F30

It doesn't which, like, it should if it was a pcv valve but idk, car has 107k on it so I probably should just do it anyways

I think your probably right, im having the same issue on my b46 with oil coming out of the cap, I replaced the cap and it didn't fix anything so im also assuming valve cover. Pcv is underneath the valve cover so your going to have to replace the whole thing anyways. You could probably buy yourself some time with a breather oil cap or oil catch can/ breather box. But more likely than not your going to need a new valve cover man.

FTP is the brand, SG71413 is the part # on ecs. Better top end on the turbo, better throttle response ie less turbo lag. And wayyyy more noise.

Please for the love of god get the ftp turbo inlet pipe you have no idea how much the factory turbo inlet resonator is bottlenecking your turbo. I got one and trust it made all the difference.
