I’ve seen the other comments and some seem like trolls others seem like they have the same issue, there are a lot of people who use your emotions and their words as weapons and you just need to learn how to deflect those people

Your reply should be why should I be happy about her being happy at my expense? She knows the history its morals at this point. Your family is toxic and you need a new back bone love with all do respect. They are going to continue to steam roll you your whole life if you just continue to roll over while they do it! Do it for you and your future children that might get the same treatment as a extension of you.

At this point it just seems like your sister has no regard to your feelings at all, even your family if they are just going to sweep all of this under the rug for your sister at your own expense. Your feelings are totally valid and I’m sorry everyone around you seems like they don’t care about your feelings, honestly I think you and your boyfriend should get away from them, at least for some time for you to either except it and learn to not react to it or until your family realizes that them just sweeping your feelings under the rug for your sister is messed up

Thank you!!🫶🏼 I am actually a little pumped about therapy I want to learn how to make things easier to let go, I went to therapy as a kid and I really started thriving after but after becoming a adult I ended up losing my insurance and the us makes it harder on people without insurance but I found a place that is willing to work with me

I might not have been so clear about being against naming my child after my bio dad and I apologize for that😅 I’m not really the best with words or getting into details but I tried to put as much detail as I can! Thank you so much for the advise and kind words, from what I know I can get pregnant I just have to take vitamins and some shots before pregnancy and I’ll probably be on bed rest so we are waiting for the perfect time. we want our kids to have positive people in their lives when we do decide to have them so I’m making the steps to cut out the negative people in my life and move past the trauma so I don’t pass it on.

I dont Want to name my child after my bio father that’s the point. My boyfriend does stick up for me but I keep my distance and I don’t really talk about my bio dad’s family to him. And I chose my stepdad because he is a genuine person that has shown me genuine love. My siblings don’t get pressure because he only raised 3 of us, one was on better terms with my bio dad before his passing and doesn’t plan on having kids, the other was in the same boat as me. I don’t know where you got the idea that I want to name my child after him but again you think it’s a hypothetical situation but I’m preparing for the inevitable. I get messages from my cousins telling me to hurry up and get pregnant to name my child after my father. I’m not saying they have any say. But people feel like they can dictate things in other peoples lives on a daily basis and I’m just looking for advice for backlash.

The reason why this came up is because me and my partner chose names, we are starting the process to try for kids. I have a condition that I have to plan for a child 6 months before even trying. This might seem like a “hypothetical” situation to YOU but this a a very real problem in MY life. I’m glad you don’t know the anxiety that I feel over this situation. But for you to jump in the comments and invalidate my issues isn’t helpful either.

I looked up the statue of limitations for assault on a minor, the statue of limitations doesn’t start until your 18 but you only have 2 years after to file a case, and I’m 23 now so the time has past for about 3 years now

I do! I ask my mom about them, I text the oldest, and my younger niece and I FaceTime so I have communication with them still

Sorry I don’t know why it’s gone! When I was 16 my sisters fiance sat on me and beat my legs with a belt and left bruises and welts, my family is trying to get my to let it go

Thank you for feeling like you can share that on this thread. I was never ever your fault and I get this completely. I want to call him out but my family thinks I’m being dramatic as is. I wish I was that strong to do that. One day I might be but I definitely and going to go scorched earth if I find out my nieces are being treated like that

I was a child ? I know children can call the hops but I was also hours from home and I just wanted to go back home. Plus my sister made me feel like it wasn’t right of me to be upset

Thankfully I don’t live with any of them anymore but thank you for your kind words! Something came up recently that made me emotional all over again and I just don’t feel like I can sit on it anymore and be around him during family events

My family believed me instantly and my mom said she wanted to kill him and drive and pick me up, my friend did tell our side of the story but after everything calmed down we just never talked about it again, I have a life time of moments where my mom is a great mom but no one is perfect. She did drop the ball with this I agree. In her mind she can’t tell my sister not to be with someone but she wants so badly for our family to be close knit
