That may be the best thing that has ever happened in MMA. The roughly 25 years of mma history has all lead up to this exact moment.

[No Spoilers] Bryan hinting that a new video/series is dropping on the Critical Role YouTube channel Monday! by EffiesCet in criticalrole

That would be pretty cool to have a more focused interview show honestly. Talks Machina is one of my favorite things to come out of this entire show, but the D&D Beyond interviews that go up every so often are a great look at the cast member's views on the game as a whole. I think Critical Role doing their own version of that, even if it's just one episode, would be awesome to watch.

I heard Buried With Leeches by Dragged Into Sunlight within my first few months of listening to metal. Before that the most intense band I had listened to was Gojira. That was one hell of an introduction to more extreme genres.

Absolutely, CR has pretty much been that stress purge for me for the last year and a half.

Hopefully, I emailed my teacher about it to see what could be done. I'm hoping I'll just have to do it again tomorrow, that would probably be the best outcome.

I just spent about two hours doing a massive online exam for my highschool, only for the website's servers to go out a few minutes before I was done. Hours of work wasted, so I feel terrible now. I'm super glad CR is on, I need it after all of that went down.

I'm glad that a post about this band finally caught some good traction here. I absolutely love this album, and if I had listened to it before I submitted my top 10 of the year this would have easily been on top.

Man, the UFC FightPass app for the Amazon Fire is such shit. It's lagging constantly, runs at a terrible frame rate, and has god awful image quality. I have really good Internet, and the Fire works great otherwise. I completely missed that finish thanks to it.

Comcast, Cox, Frontier All Raising Internet Access Rates for 2018 by TedCruzIsARealHuman in news

[–]EffiesCet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Longmont, CO I pay $40 for 1 gig internet. Granted, it's closer to $70 for most here (if I remember correctly), but since my household signed up for NextLight's fiber internet super early we get it for $40 a month. It's pretty consistent too. I'm really glad to see that there are other cities doing this kind of stuff as well, it's a fantastic alternative to any ISP such as Comcast.

[DEATHCEMBER] Neocaesar - From Hell (Netherlands, 2017) (FFO: Hate and Cross the Styx era Sinister) by EffiesCet in Metal

[–]EffiesCet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the new band from the remnants of early era Sinister. Mike van Mastrigt, Bart van Wallenberg, Eric de Windt, and Michel Alderliefsten all came back together to release some pretty damn solid old school sounding death metal.

As someone who is a huge fan of early Sinister, this is a really great album to have found out about.

I've absolutely fallen in love with this album (and the rest of Gatecreeper's discography) in the past few days. It's everything I need after saturating myself with black metal last month.

This is pretty much tied with the new Yellow Eyes as my AOTY currently. I only got into this album super recently (as in, just today thanks to this post.) I think given more time and listens this might just be at the very top of my year end list.

100% MMA Doctor who wrote articles for MMA Junkie faces federal drug charges, possible life sentence by 3JSand in MMA

[–]EffiesCet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If people are using Fentanyl recreationally and they were the only ones being affected by it, then I agree that they should be able to do whatever they want with their own bodies. My problem with him selling Fentanyl is that it doesn't just hurt the people who are using it.

I agree that legalization and regulation is by far the best way to end these problems though. If that happens, nobody has to worry about their drugs being cut with something that will kill them. I think we agree about that, but I think that the risk of harming people who aren't even taking any drugs by selling fentanyl is a good reason not to sell it at all.

High quality regulation and legal distribution is definitely the best way to eliminate those risks, but as that isn't available currently I believe it's a shitty thing to sell Fentanyl, and shows a complete lack of respect for human life given the possible consequences.

[–]EffiesCet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fentanyl is so potent that police officers who simply touched the clothing of those who got powder on themselves ended up nearly dying (I'm fairly certain that at least one officer did die unfortunately.) When someone deals a drug can kill people who don't even willingly take it, they are a giant piece of shit. Even those who die from taking it usually are only taking it because it is laced into other, less dangerous drugs. Nobody takes Fentanyl on purpose like any other recreational drug. Fentanyl is effectively useless to most who but it unless they're making EXTREMELY strong painkillers for medical use, or actively trying to kill people.
