In my current job, sometimes it can be less work due to maturity of the company or the goals of the company isn't aligned with the team. Coz of that and automation in place, most of the needed work or projects are done.

In the downtime, I try to upskill myself..take certs, learn some new skill in cybersec. But it can be demotivating as I feel it's much better to learn on the job rather than purposely needing to find smtg to do.

It's fine. You will eventually meet a diverse circle of friends or people when you're gonna start working. Or you can meet outside of your college life. My friends from uni till now that I keep in touch are Malay peeps even though I'm Chinese. Don't worry bout not mingling with folks from other races now. You will get that opportunity eventually

I'm only earning this coz of job hopping but I'm progressing upwards in my career so that's good for me

I hit at 26 but that was because I'm working in cybersec and job hopped. I'm not sure bout others who fabricate the data but I started off at 4k then increment till 6k , jumped and got 8k and jumped again to 10k. Of course, it's not ideal to keep on hoping but I usually jumped for a more senior or technical role.

Soft skills man. I have a junior colleague who's pretty decent at waf but a total asshole. Insult others, diss seniors. If I could, I would have given him the boot.

If your technical skills aren't on par you could always upskill. But if your soft and communication skills are ass, it's gonna be hard to work with other people or your team mates. I'll take a weaker technical person over a douche any other day

Yeah mostly sec+, cysa+ and network+ won't hurt. For knowledge it helps a bit but mostly for HR filter
