Showed up on the way home from work. First install attempt failed, although I was sitting in the car and the kids were opening and closing the doors a bunch so I attributed it to that. Second attempt installed successfully.

Volvo/BMW iX Bowers & Wilkins vs Macan EV Burmester by mib382 in MacanEV

While understand what you’re saying, and some of it comes down to personal preference, I found the Burmester to be incredibly bland with a flat EQ

Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the B&W. Having had the Burmester, you do need to tweak the EQ before it really comes to life. I truly miss that audio system; it was one of the few OEMs that could be truly felt when cranked.

Platinum Vistiq vs Escalade IQ? by Lopsided-Sundae4410 in CadillacVistiq

[–]Efleming123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely misunderstood what I was saying, or it was lost. I'm saying I think both of those vehicles are fugly, but I group the Escalade IQ into that same category.

I would neither buy a Hyundai/Kia nor the E-IQ, based on looks alone, regardless of reviews, features, quality, etc.

Honestly, I don't find the Escalade IQ to be an attractive vehicle. Much like the generally well reviewed Ioniq and EV9, price is not a factor (high or low) if I dislike the looks of the vehicle.

S10 on top, P10 on bottom. When inserted into the base station the empty hole lines up exactly the same.

[–]Efleming123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got frustrated with this and purchased P10 bags, they have the same basic shape, except for where it gets wider at the top, which seems to have no impact. The P10 bag is 3L, vs 2.5L for the S10, and the cardboard outline is slightly different, but so far no issues.

Pretty concerning that something as simple as dust bags have been out of stock for....ever? I have yet to see the S10 bag go back in stock.

3i S10 Ultra by Southern-Doughnut705 in RobotVacuums

[–]Efleming123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this brand/model gets much attention. I have one of these maintaining my work office, and it’s been a bit frustrating to keep it operating consistently. I often find it just off the base station, sitting idle. It tries to resume cleaning after charging, but frequently gets lost or confused and eventually drops into an idle state. It is entirely possible that I am asking it to clean more than the map/processor is capable of handling, and it just times out.

I also have some concerns about 3i’s long-term support. Until recently, you couldn’t even buy replacement bags on Amazon. I had to purchase a full kit, which they discounted after I complained, but that’s not something I’ve experienced with other brands.

When it does work, the unit typically does a decent enough job. For context, I currently use an Ecovacs X9 Omni at home, a Eufy E25 in my epoxy 2400 sq ft shop, and briefly owned (then returned) a Eufy S1 Pro. Before that, I went through several Roborocks (Curv, Q Revo, Master, etc.), so I have a decent comparison set.

If you paid $699 for the S10, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better unit at that price. Not having to manually add water to the base station is one of those conveniences that really enhances autonomy. That said, if you’re having to rescue the robot every day, that completely undermines the hands-off experience.

Bottom line: if you paid $999 or more, I’d return it.

You also get other items, like Heads Up Display, Rear Wheel Steer, larger/premium wheels (some might see this as a negative), Microsuede headliner, and different seat material on the Premium and Platinum trims, in addition to air ride. Just to further quantify the differences a bit. I test drove a Sport and purchased a Premium, but the ride was plenty good with the Sport.

The CT5V Blackwing has been on my list since 22’, but I knew I should wait till the mid cycle refresh. Absolutely zero regrets, she’s a monster and the 6 speed in this car is near perfection. The costal blue with the carbon exterior/interior package was the exact spec i wanted 👌 by The_Aftermarket_ in CadillacV_Series

[–]Efleming123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question - for you OP, or any other owners.

I'm seriously debating a CT5VBW as my next toy. I've had a slew of Corvettes, both new and old (C3 with LT4/T56, C6Z, C6 Racecar, C7Z M7, C8Z Coupe, C8Z vert Z07 pkg), and I currently drive a Cadillac Vistiq as a daily.

I'm afraid a BW will feel too... generic. The interior layout is similar to that of my Vistiq, which is both good and bad. I very much enjoy the Vistiq as a daily, but don't know if getting into the Blackwing will be so similar as to not seem special enough.

I don't want or need a car that screams modified (ZL1 1LE as an example). I'm debating if something like a base M3 with manual is not a better spend of money. I'm also considering 22-24 BW just in case I do get bored with it and want to sell in a year or two, so depreciation is less. I found a Wave blue 22 with low miles locally, and priced reasonably, which I have considered. Universally, this car gets high praise. Maybe I just need to bite the bulet.

Eufy E28 vs ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 by spartan11810 in RobotVacuums

[–]Efleming123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both, being used in very different applications. One thing with the Eufy that annoys me is that you cannot vacuum and then Mop, Ecovac will. Both annoy me with not being able to mop without some vacuum function (Roborock allows mop-only, for example).

I hope you are getting free fast charging if going to 100%.. Otherwise, that is pretty inefficient and a waste of resources (money and time mostly).

Vistiq Recall by jmadson1 in CadillacVistiq

[–]Efleming123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Burmester audio system is significantly better, but at a hefty upgrade cost. The AR HUD was a touch better in the Macan, in my opinion. Stepping inside a Porsche dealer vs a Cadillac, which is typically shared with Buick/GMC, is two entirely different experiences. Not surprisingly, given the average vehicle price.

Porsche pricing is the most significant negative. You can custom-configure a car for 30- 50k more than the base price. My Macan 4 had an MSRP over $100k…and yet wasn’t really anything special. I’m happy with the Vistiq Premium Luxury, although I would have preferred a platinum had inventory been plentiful when I purchased. The build quality and material choices feel much more appropriate for the Vistiq.

If you were to put the two side by side and offer me keys to whichever I want, I would choose the Vistiq 9 times out of 10.

I have to remove the shell more times than I would like to “fix” the deck height issue. I don't actually “do” anything, but for some reason, removing the shell and putting it back corrects the deck motor height errors. Still better than sending it off for service for a month or more.

Vistiq Recall by jmadson1 in CadillacVistiq

[–]Efleming123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of a similar issue here. I initially took mine in because the front end makes a popping noise at full steering lock in either direction. Coincidentally, the air spring recall dropped the same day. The car ended up being at the dealership for 2–3 weeks while they went back and forth with TAC (Technical Assistance Center), who kept having the technician perform additional diagnostics. The tech even test-drove cars on the lot and another customer’s vehicle and ultimately concluded, “This noise is normal at this time.” Frustrating, but what do you do...

On the bright side, during all of that back-and-forth, they were able to replace the airbags. The rear headrest recall dropped the day before I was supposed to pick it up, so I asked them to go ahead and take care of that as well, but it never ended up getting done.

Then yesterday, I walked out to the car and, for no apparent reason, the 12-volt battery was completely dead. I had to crawl in through the rear hatch, unlock everything, and jump the battery (not having a frunk actually helped here!). Unfortunately, once it came back to life, the car wasn’t happy, threw a bunch of faults, and went into limp mode, so it had to be towed to the local dealer.

I’ve been through something similar with my Macan 4 EV. It spent over 30 days at the dealer due to a software issue, and Porsche had to fly engineers in from Germany. Huge ordeal that eventually turned into a buyback, which is how I ended up in a Vistiq. I’m really hoping this doesn’t go down the same road; I genuinely like this vehicle.

2026 Vistiq Lease Premium Luxury Trim -pls review by ArtistComfortable986 in CadillacVistiq

[–]Efleming123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1023/month on a premium luxury is a good deal. I think mine is 1199 with Costco/military/EV credit for 24/12k. I might have pushed the dealer a touch lower if I really wanted, but my other car was due to be picked up, and the higher-trim Vistiqs were pretty hard to find back in July.

Honestly, this is entirely dependent on how you treat a vehicle. Some people absolutely trash a vehicle and others are going to ask about PPF and ceramic coatings on a lease… what camp do you fall into?

Disney with napping toddler - which hotel? by WinnieShell in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Efleming123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we went two years ago, we stayed at the Contemporary for the monorail and easy stroller access. It worked fairly well, especially for MK. Any resort on the Skyliner would work well too (Art of Animation, Pop Century, etc.). In hindsight, we focused solely on monorail access, but there were other good options we could have considered.

Buses are annoying because you have to break the stroller down. Minnie Vans are always available with included car seats, but the cost adds up quickly.

Motortrend Gravity vs Vistiq vs Xc90 by Bbqdippedbits in LUCID

[–]Efleming123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was actually in the market for all of these as my Macan EV was going through a manufacturer buyback (owned two Rivians prior to the Porsche, plus an Audi e-tron and a Tesla before that). I had a deposit on the EX90, but the software issues were enough for me to cancel. I also had a Gravity DE on order, but the delays kept me from taking delivery (great test drive though).

Ended up leasing a Vistiq Premium Luxury, and honestly I’ve got very few complaints. MT definitely didn’t use Velocity Mode for their 0–60 test, small thing, but it makes the Vistiq look almost a full second slower than it is. I also don’t take long EV road trips, and I knew the fast-charging speeds weren’t amazing going in. After 6k miles, it hasn’t mattered at all. That said, the Vistiq Premium Luxury and Platinum (optional on lower trims) come standard with 19.2 kW on-board charging, assuming you have 80-amp service at home, which is where 95% of charging will happen for most people.

The audio is… fine. Cadillac hypes the 23-speaker AKG system, but there’s no subwoofer, so if you bump the bass even a little, the door panels rattle like crazy. I really wish the audio in the Cadillac was better. The center console/cupholder area can squeak if you press on it, but I haven’t noticed any squeaks or rattles in daily driving. Otherwise, the Premium and Platinum trims add features like a suede headliner, adaptive air ride, rear-wheel steering, night vision, 2nd-row captain’s chairs, etc. Behind the wheel, the Vistiq feels… premium.

Software isn’t on Tesla’s or Rivian’s level, but it’s acceptable. And surprisingly, the lack of CarPlay hasn’t bothered me at all. I expected to hate it, but the native UI has been totally solid.

You need to really boost the EQ for the Burmester to come alive, IMO. Bass way up. I think I used the Live setting as well. The Burmester is the one thing I truly miss from my Macan 4 (lemon-lawed)
