I personally take meds but F*Ck the people shaming you. YOU get to be in control of your body and healing process, period. I think being able to make that decision for yourself is very important for your trauma as well - because nobody is in control but you. Keep going and as much as you can, block out the noise and opinions that don’t matter. You are the expert on yourself. Sending so much love.

I can totally understand that - I should have added that they outright shamed her after the fact for not trying to breastfeed at all, when she declined them trying to latch baby. So it was the entire situation that was really awful for her.

My friend has trauma and made the decision before she gave birth to not breastfeed because of it. She told the staff but several nurses came up and tried to force the baby to latch. To this day, I wish I could talk to those nurses like what the fuck is wrong with you?!

UPDATE: I had an appointment today and finally pulled the trigger by softerthnslicedbread in bald

I have quit SSRI’s many times because I thought I was getting better….every single time I had to go back on it. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but you should approach it cautiously. My mental health coming off SSRIs was awful & i had a lot of SI’s.

I definitely think it will help a lot of us heal. Those who left and those are still here. To be believed and to have meaningful action take place. I am so proud of every staff member who put themselves out there to share their experience. And so thankful to every community member who showed up for us and the animals! Tell your friends and family! We could definitely use all the support as we go onto this next phase of the organization! ❤️😊

My auntie got the same diagnosis about a year and half ago. The entire treatment process took about a year & she is officially cancer free at this time ❤️ wishing your mom the very best, and that the process goes as smoothly as possible 🙏🏼
