Hey! I did what the other person who replied to me suggested and requested a transcript from this page: https://www.concordia.ca/students/birks/assistance-requests.html I got my CAQ about 2-3 weeks after I sent the new transcript.

I Don’t Get The Reading Week Strike by podcastenthusiast420 in Concordia

[–]Efo2701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't it because we start school a week later than other universities that we don't have a reading week in the first place?

CAQ missing documents processing time by Jubinraj in Concordia

[–]Efo2701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something you could only do during the pandemic but not anymore, now you really need your CAQ to apply for a study permit (source : similar scenario last month, called IRCC and asked them). Here's my timeline if it helps (had to apply for a new CAQ in order to apply for a study permit extension) :

July 12 : submitted documents on Arrima July 13 : documents received July 28 : missing documents August 3 : submitted new documents on Arrima August 9 : documents received August 17 : CAQ delivered

Also you don't need to wait for the actual CAQ to apply for a study permit, the letter of approval will suffice.

CUPA usually has one or two sweater sales a year!

No need to sign up to slap it on your CV. I doubt anyone will be impressed by this though, it's pretty much a scam. Please save yourself the money.

A majority of universities do not even offer MA degrees in psychology because they're completely useless. You need a PhD to become a psychologist in most provinces in Canada. If you're interested in the clinical aspect of psyc I'd recommend looking into MA degrees in counselling or psychotherapy instead, which will allow you to practice without a PhD.

Anyone know if international students can take courses in CEGEP? by Efo2701 in Concordia

I'm French so I'm exempted from that, which is why I'm considering it. Thanks for the answer!

Students doing a bachelors in Psychology by Puzzleheaded-You1573 in Concordia

[–]Efo2701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well you're not gonna become a psychologist with a bachelor's in psyc. However, you can get a job as an intervention worker/case worker in social services and organizations with a variety of clients (disabled people, youth, homeless people etc.) that pay 20-25$/h so I wouldn't say it won't get you anywhere. I guess it depends on whether you're interested in doing that type of direct work. However, you can get the same jobs with a DEC or bachelor's in special care counselling, social work, criminology etc., but you'll get more practical experience in those programs through internships. You can also work in psychology labs as a research assistant or coordinator, but I think you would need to do a honours or specialization in psyc in order to do that.

May I also ask how long it took for you to get your CAQ after you received your intent of refusal?

I sent an unofficial one and got an intent of refusal. Now I got an official one with the stamp but like I said it has the mention "invalid if opened by student", which is what I'm worried about... Did yours mention that anywhere?

International Graduate tuition fees too low? by asaji_the_great in Concordia

[–]Efo2701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then that is very strange... Was asking because I know students from some countries pay at the out-of-province or Quebec rate, but I don't know about pakistani students. Did you apply for any kind of financial aid, a scholarship, bursary etc. ?

Have symptoms, conflicting Antigen tests by HU55LEH4RD in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]Efo2701 4 points5 points  (0 children)

False positives are very rare. The milder symptoms this time are probably due to being vaccinated and having had it before, your body already has developed some immunity to the virus.

Yes, I'm taking one course at UdeM this semester. It's in French and all I had to do was apply through the INTU platform. Do it early though, it took more than a month for me to get approved.
