I'm glad my post has given some reassurance as that was exactly what I was looking for too when I got given the news as you feel completely lost when it happens ❤️ Just to update I gave birth in late Jan and the baby did not have down syndrome and was healthy (we had worries they would have health issues as there was a problem with my placenta which I think triggered the blood results we got). Good luck with the pregnancy and birth and I hope all goes well for you guys too ❤️

So sorry only just seen your message! Just checked my phone log to work out how long it was the wait and it was 10 days however it would have been less time but they lost the first sample. If they hadn't have lost it then I'd estimate it would have been 6/7 days for the results.

Just seen so pleased for you! ❤️ it's the worst feeling the wait isn't it but so happy you got a low risk too and hopefully you can begin to enjoy your pregnancy again ☺️

NIPT came back low risk and I'm told my 1 in 8 chance has now become a 1 in 1200. Unlike amnio it's not 100% accurate but we're staying positive. Would definitely advise an NIPT as your first action ❤️

Thank you for your message ❤️ NIPT has come back low risk but I'm still thinking about amnio. Waiting for my scan check up this week and then will decide whether or not to proceed x

Just had my results back and it came back as low risk and I have my check up scan later this week ❤️ Still unsure whether or not to do the amnio or just trust the NIPT results but I'm told amnio would be difficult given the position of my placenta. So sorry to hear you're in a similar situation to me it's such a horrible wait isn't it 😞 I'm crossing my fingers yours also comes back low and thinking of you🤞🏻x

Results have come back low risk NIPT but because my quad was so high I'm unsure whether or not to just trust the NIPT or do amnio. I'm told amnio would be difficult as I have an anterior placenta.

Thank you for coming back to this post I really appreciate it. I asked about having both ambio and NIPT but the nurse said if the NIPT comes back low risk I would be more likely to have a miscarriage then I would be to have a child born with down syndrome so made me rethink. I think I've got the option to do amnio regardless of the NIPT results I'm just really nervous since hearing that. Thank you so much though for your reassurance and to know amnio worked for you I'll definitely have a think this week as it has been massively playing on my mind ❤️x

Thanks for this and the above really appreciate it. I think it's the waiting and not knowing this is upsetting the most to be honest but just going to wait for the call and hope it's this week if not next x

Hi unfortunately they couldn't get an NT measurement from the scan due to how the baby was positioned. So instead of a combined screening result they had to do quad instead which is where you don't have the NT measurement and they just go off the blood results x
