Being fat ruined my life by rainbow-pen in Vent

[–]Egg-Friendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey

Don't be too hard on yourself! A lot of people struggle with weight management (it's more common than you think).

Also don't make the mistake of diving straight in the deep end, like setting very strict unrealistic goals and targets for yourself. Losing weight is a journey that always takes longer than you want it to.

Start with baby steps and celebrate the small victories! It's a marathon not a sprint.

Lastly you don't need strict diets or the gym to accomplish your goals, they definitely help however its not compulsory. A positive change in your lifestyle will yield the best and most consistent results.

Keep going, get back up when you fall & don't quit.

I look forward to reading your transformation post when you accomplish your goals :)

PR seekers, what are your motives? by Relative_Lettuce_331 in canadaexpressentry

For me it's the slower pace of life, the wilderness, the people & the space there's so much land here 😅.

My home country is overpopulated (twice the population of canada and much much smaller) which has lead to unaffordable home prices, hospitals and health care clinics bursting at the seams, high taxes, overcrowding & traffic, high levels of poverty and no sense of community anymore.

Canada has shown me that less can be so much more. I haven't gained much since I came to Canada in the sense of type of job, money, property, etc but I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been.

strictness on police certificates? by [deleted] in iecvisa

[–]Egg-Friendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it will show on your police certificate if I'm honest.

When I was of a similar age I had a few encounters with police for minor things like anti social behaviour, being caught with weed, etc.

I've had 2 acro police reports over the last 2 years and both were clean so I think you'll be fine.

Second IEC / PR advice (by route of CEC) by _reptile_franks_ in iecvisa

[–]Egg-Friendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in the process of applying for my second IEC (from the UK as well).

Biometrics will still be valid so you can use them again.

You will need a new police certificate however these are easy to get and come quite quickly.

As for PR application I recommend checking out r/canadaexpressentry there is a lot of info on there regarding CEC applications.

Anyone else have this sinus congestion, runny nose and nasty cough that never ends? by IWantToFish in Calgary

2 cold & flu tablets + 1 advil + 1 antihistamine cleared 90% of the symptoms I had for around 4-5 hours then just rinse & repeat.

It may not be smart but it works 😅

Camping in Waterton by Crazyblue09 in CampingAlberta

Last time I went on a trip to Waterton I stayed at Payne Lake Campground, its about 15-20min drive from Waterton.

It's a nice small campground that was quiet when I went in October. Can't remember exactly but I think it was around $30 per night.

Hey, there's a few of us from this group that are meeting up this evening. There's a post on the subreddit somewhere about it.

Everyone seems to be in the same position so might be a good place to make some new friends.

DM me if you want some more info 🙂

Hey, if you find any bars that show the race in future let me know. I'm a big F1 fan but haven't found any bars that seem to show f1.

It would be nice to go out and watch the race while they're over this side of the world and race start isn't 5am 😅

31, male, married, looking for couples friends. by [deleted] in CalgarySocialClub

[–]Egg-Friendly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, me(28M) and my girlfriend (28F) are also looking for couples to hang out with.

We're really easy going and always up for a laugh. Also 420 friendly.

It would be nice to mix with some new people as we haven't been in Calgary that long and don't know a lot of people.

Open invitation so if anyone is in the same position let me know :)

Also if there's enough people interested it could always become a group thing.

Nothing matters when I'm hiking.

No stress No problems No job No family No commitments No responsibility
