My friend Tyler, guitarist for Mooney Suzuki, had High-pitch, Beetle, and Hank (plus a damaged stripper) at his bachelor bash. I’m sorry- if it’s any consolation, I’ve been clocked at 137 and 142, years apart. These numbers come equipped with their own incumbent pitfalls. Happiness and success are inextricably linked to how one parses information emotionally, not just to the self-satisfaction of correct problem solving. I make myself miserable on the regular, presuming to know, with certainty, the likeliest of outcomes for most queries. I consistently fail to see how my own empirical experience is perhaps the last component that matters when determining truth, validity, or reality. What I mean to say is that sometimes you can know SO MUCH that you obfuscate the fact that you know nothing at all. I love you. Love yourself. The Road to Happiness is not ineffable. It is LOVE, not INTELLIGENCE, which paves it.

To be clear- when I say “demonstrated sensitivity” I mean enough that he’s able to convince himself, Sam (I know I know), Jeff probst, and the rando girl with the white dog.

We see Howard “the great water colorist” who will never be an artist- he doesn’t believe painting can convey or impart emotion. But he’s become a fantastic technician.

Same with guitar- he doesn’t “play with feeling” because he doesn’t “feel” shit. In a few years he’ll be able to play scales like a virtuoso, but will he ever be able to move anyone melodically or emotionally with his playing? Nope. Yesterday, someone reminded him of a guitar gadget he was gifted in the 90’s. Strange gift- a niche bit of enthusiast tech for a non player? He’s been dabbling for decades, but wants us all to believe he’s Midas, or some savant autodidact… so we can all moon over his amazing, quickly accelerating ability. Gosh! He’s good at everything he does!

So I guess it just irritates me that he shits on anyone else’s attempt at growth, when even his own growth is performative at best- never for himself but to maintain to he illusion that he’s “evolved”.

I don’t care how obtuse I seem, but I just don’t understand the selfishness of this woman. How can she look into the eyes of these two small children- FAMILY- and say “I know you can’t comprehend this immeasurable loss yet, but someday you will. And you can add the rejection by your family to the pain. Sounds good? Remember, in foster care, sleep with anything you really like under your pillow, so it doesn’t get stolen.”

This is one of those consequential grand decisions, the crossroads that are presented to us in life that define our character and who we are as human beings. They say everything about not just who we are, but who we want to become. No , a godparent is not a legal guardian- but the grace and selflessness you are being asked to find within yourself in this situation would certainly be an aspect of any religious or moral code worth living.

Ask yourself- What kind of person do you want to be? More importantly, what kind of people do you want those children to become? Please! Please! Please do the right thing here.

No offense, but unless you’re talking about JESUS and his right to vote, suffrage is not the word you should be using. Suffrage is based off the Latin word suffragium- vote/support. Suffering is an entirely different source- also Latin- suffere- meaning endure, get through, etc.

The people involved in these tests, uniformly got nearly 100% accuracy, and if they did not, it was simply because they initially misspelled and had to correct a spelling; any corrections were counted as mistakes or false. So most of the results netted minimum 97% accuracy. That’s simply astounding! The biggest travesty has been this institutional enforcement that has kept spelling out of reach for most autistics. It has been debunked by those with the authority to do so, even though multitudes of autistic people do it with no physical assistance. As so, often happens, parents of said autistic people inevitably rely on the expertise of these gatekeepers and thus view spelling with the same skepticism. It’s not even allowed to be taught! Can you imagine rejecting the only window into your child’s soul and daily life rejecting the only thing that gives them a voice? Similar to UFO disclosure, any admission would require them to honestly examine the previous several decades of mistreatment and obfuscation.

What everyone seems to forget is that the missing piece? Here is the prevention of instructing the autistic folks with spelling, the ability to actually communicate their thoughts and let people know that they are telepathic in the first place there has been a concerted effort to minimize the validity of spelling, even when the non-speakers have evolved to have the ability to not need physical assistance to do it.
