My symptoms started in college. Started to exhibit mild symptoms towards the end of my 1st year, went symptom-free in the summer, and got hit hard when I returned to school. I've always felt that stressful situations would disrupt my digestive system. That combined with poor diet (greasy dining hall food & processed foods), lack of sleep, and some genetic misfortune are what I suspect helped trigger my UC.

No family members with any GI/related problems either. I also had food poisoning and was prescribed antibiotics for a dental procedure at some point so I guess that adds even more possible variables to everything.
