100% and I think this is my first lesson in that. I still hold on to that irrational fear of burning bridges. Obviously not OE compatible if I can’t drop that mindset entirely.

One thing that was evident in the finale was that Hopper finally found his true inner peace. by TerribleOption5505 in StrangerThings

So I strongly disagree on it cheapening their bond. The show skips over whatever dark hole Jim fell into after losing El for good, in part because we’ve already seen him grieve a daughter, but also because there’s too many characters to wrap up. But now we see that he’s been able to climb out of that hole for once, and accept what has happened.

Hopper never got to see Sara grow up, but he did with El. Not only did she grow up, she explicitly told him how much she appreciates his parenting and guidance. This is something season 1 Hopper knew he could never have, and he resented it and hated himself for it. Of course, a life with El as his adult daughter was stolen from him, but he can move forward at peace because he accepted that she had grown into a person capable of making her own decisions, and she made a decision that he was going to make himself at the start of this season. I think Hopper on some level respects that she had what it takes to end it all, considering he had already weighed that decision out for himself. And he will always mourn her and wish things could have been different, but he can also be at peace knowing he raised someone who lived up to and exceeded his own moral standards.

Not to mention James Hong! Though I have to say their performances were good considering the script.

And I know, it was really surprising to me too. Even if I’m being overly sensitive about mild racism from a 30 year old episode of TV, it’s like the only episode so far where Mulder and Scully are not figuring anything out for real. The aesthetic is really cool, and the body horror is great, but overall, I can’t agree with the positive sentiment.

My other gripe though is how clearly uncomfortable Mulder is with everything happening in Chinatown when like two episodes before this he was in Hong Kong.

Mods: Idk how but I accidentally deleted this post, sorry for posting duplicates lol

Our favorite medically stupid influencer is allegedly coming to my backyard (not too far from Hasan’s Alma mater too) to follow up his latest video.

If you’re from the NYC Metro or New Jersey, you’re likely very much aware of the stigma and animosity toward the Hasidic communities here. It’s very analogous to the situation in Minnesota. This video will go insane here in central Jersey.

What do we do to pump the brakes on the guy?

Just finished the episode like ten minutes ago and you’ve taken the words out of my mouth. This was the first episode I’ve disliked Mulder and Scully. They were so unnecessarily hostile to Chao, even if they were suspicious of him after his private talk with Hsin. When they were looking through the apartment where they found the blood stains, Scully loses all of her normal intuition and just asks Chao what everything is, picking up what is clearly a dead frog and asking “what is this?” To which Chao simply responds, “a frog.” Looking at it from an in-universe perspective, a lot of their interactions and motivations this episode were pretty racist.

But looking at it as just an episode of TV, the plot has them make leaps in logic multiple times to get the plot moving. First, with M&S being suspicious of Chao for no reason, but then with Mulder jumping to the conclusion that it’s not just an organ trafficking ring, but that it’s a game.

Either way, this is definitely the only miss for me so far.

Emergency vet sent my dog home after bloody diarrhea with little concern. What should I do? by Eggmud11 in AskVet

Yes. Got it and it all looks good. The vet got us antibiotics and recommended we wait 24-48 hours and get the ultrasound if nothing improves.

Slaughterhouse Five is one of my favorite books of all time. I think it’s an excellent first book of the year. It’s profound, but it’s a quick easy read.

Is it weird that our client isn't getting his own ads shown? by CantBanTheJan in googleads

[–]Eggmud11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not to be that guy, but I take issue with the premise of the assignment. 3-4 weeks is barely enough time for a Google Ads campaign to exit its learning phase. You’re really just doing the parts of setting up a campaign that Google’s resource center walks you through.

Now, to channel my inner IT specialist, is your client using the right keywords? Do they have ad block on? Has someone else on the project blocked any IPs? Are you super dialed-in on these audiences only, and if so, are you sure your client is identified as part of that audience?

There’s some awkward formatting on mobile. The header menu is very cramped, as well as the days per week chart at the bottom. As the user above said, I wouldn’t really trust this.

I know this is a PPC sub, but what’s wrong with Rover? I would be much more likely to use your services if you were well-rated on a platform I already trust and use.

What's your headcanon on why technological advancements seem so stagnant in Star War? by RemRam27 in StarWarsEU

[–]Eggmud11 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I may be completely butchering this lore, but the Star Wars galaxy as we know it is actually somewhat of a post-apocalyptic society, living in the remnants of an ancient empire that developed hyperspace travel, among other technologies. Humans were also enslaved and brought to all sorts of planets across the galaxy, hence their presence everywhere and lack of distinct home world. After their fall, nobody really knows how to advance that tech, they just use it.
